{"id":36250,"date":"2016-12-13T19:05:50","date_gmt":"2016-12-14T01:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/?p=36250"},"modified":"2016-12-13T19:05:50","modified_gmt":"2016-12-14T01:05:50","slug":"wwe-raw-tv-philadephia-holt-report-1212-person-observations-happened-off-live-tv-crowd-reactions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2016\/12\/13\/wwe-raw-tv-philadephia-holt-report-1212-person-observations-happened-off-live-tv-crowd-reactions\/","title":{"rendered":"WWE Raw TV in Philadephia HOLT Report 12\/12: In-person observations of what happened off live TV, crowd reactions, more"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-3798631006\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><p><em>PWTorch reader Dave Walker sent the following observations from attending Monday Night Raw and the Live 205 taping last night in Philadelphia, Pa.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>I attended last night and found it to have a couple of really high points as well as some disappointments.<\/p>\n<p>First, the new set with the curved video screen and the video ramp (the floor) is fantastic. \u00a0Sitting upstairs and looking downward it looks great.<\/p>\n<p>The off-camera side of the upper level was covered up as well as the end behind the set. \u00a0Otherwise very full.<\/p>\n<p>The show started at 7:30 with the ring set up for 205 Live. \u00a0I am not a fan of the Cruiserweight show as it will become apparent. \u00a0We endured three matches before Raw\u00a0came on. \u00a0The English guy who looks like a reject from The Vaudvillains was a bit much for me. \u00a0My personal taste. \u00a0A small part of the crowd was into it. \u00a0Matches were too choreographed, like watching Lucha without knowing who the performers are.<\/p>\n<p>A big problem with the 205 set was the time to convert it back to Raw\u00a0while the live audience is subjected to the WrestleMania video, the same one shown both at Philly&#8217;s last Raw\u00a0and recent Smackdown. \u00a0The exact same video.<\/p>\n<p>Finally live Raw. \u00a0New Day was over big. \u00a0Cesaro and Shamus played to the crowd. \u00a0Entertaining match, crowd into it. Was it here that Big E made his not-so-PG joke about the third leg?<\/p>\n<p>Strowman and Axel was what it was. Axel is a big guy which made Strowman look more impressive. \u00a0He works as the monster heel.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-719292646\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Then things went south for me. \u00a0I hate Mick Foley&#8217;s persona. \u00a0Long gone is the dangerous and unpredictable wildman, replaced by a reality show dad. \u00a0That&#8217;s the best I can say about his segments.<\/p>\n<p>Then more torment for the live crowd as the ring crew set the ring up for cruiserweights, \u00a0same guys we saw earlier for the most part. \u00a0It takes way too much time to change the tape on the ropes to purple and the live crowd is subjected to ads for Scooby Doo and the \u00a0Flintstones &#8211; the same Flintstones video they pushed a year ago. \u00a0And ads for the network. \u00a0All for a short match with interference. \u00a0Great.<\/p>\n<p>The Rollins segment was entertaining. \u00a0The crowd likes Rollins and Chris Jericho but surprisingly lukewarm to Owens. \u00a0When Reigns finally came out, the crowd booed him at Cena like levels, because they just do that. \u00a0It&#8217;s Philly.<\/p>\n<p>And then &#8211; OH NO &#8211; the fifth cruiserweights match of the night. \u00a0I swear this is true &#8211; I slept through it. \u00a0Then more time to change the ring back, so more ads.<\/p>\n<p>Bayley got a nice pop. \u00a0Quick match.<\/p>\n<p>I love Rusev, I think he is hilarious. \u00a0I finally learned what a certified G was. \u00a0Funny segment, obvious ending. \u00a0Logical in the world of wrestling and advanced the angle.<\/p>\n<p>Then Jinder Mahal. \u00a0&#8220;Shocking&#8221; defeat leading to&#8230; more Foley taking time from more interesting performers. \u00a0From my section, you could clearly hear people shouting at Zayn to sign the deal and go to Smackdown. \u00a0I would rather see Eva Marie in an Ironman match than see these segments.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, following more ads even during intros, and one for a jeweler who I will not patronize, a wonderful crazy main event that sent the crowd home happy.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3083411455\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Everyone knew that either Xavier Woods or Jericho would take the pin, but it still worked.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd didn&#8217;t pop huge tonight. \u00a0Favorites were Rollins, Cesaro, and New Day. \u00a0They unloaded on Reigns. \u00a0And they will. \u00a0Though it was just a year ago when the same Philly fans blew the roof off the building when he &#8220;earned&#8221; the title in the same building. \u00a0It&#8217;s the booking, stupid.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix\">\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix\">\n<p><em><strong>Please send any news tips and results to: pwtorch@gmail.com.<\/strong>\u00a0For instance, let us know if you hear a pro wrestling reference on a popular talk show, see a pro wrestling related Tweet or Instagram from celebrity, hear an ad for matches advertised for an upcoming WWE event, or anything else pro wrestling related that\u2019d be of interest to our readers.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If you attend a live event, please send results.<\/strong>\u00a0We don\u2019t set up correspondents ahead of time and count on readers like you to send an email with a report on live events you attend \u2013 not just WWE, but also ROH, NXT, international groups. and anything else.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pwtor-end-article-groups pwtor-entity-placement\" id=\"pwtor-3898882877\"><div id=\"pwtor-4279183937\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\nTHANK YOU FOR VISITING<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>PWTorch reader Dave Walker sent the following observations from attending Monday Night Raw and the Live 205 taping last night in Philadelphia, Pa.
