AT 2300 ARENA<br \/>\nAIRED ON SINCLAR AFFILIATES &amp; ROHWRESTLING.COM<br \/>\nREPORT BY HARLEY R. PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/h3>\n<p><i>Announcers: Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana<\/i><\/p>\n<p>[Q1] My feed cut off the first minute or two so we began with Cheeseburger sitting in on commentary.\u00a0 The Dawgs made their entrance wearing unbuttoned tropical shirts over matching lime green trunks.\u00a0 Ferrara continued to take umbrage at Titus referring to him as \u201cLittle Willie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>(1) THE DAWGS (Rhett Titus &amp; Will Ferrara) vs. MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS (Alex Shelley &amp; Chris Sabin) \u2013 ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cheeseburger claimed that he\u2019s looking for a new tag partner.\u00a0 Ferrara showboated in front of Cheeseburger at ringside and took a kick from Sabin as a result.\u00a0 The Guns double-teamed Titus and drove him from the ring.\u00a0 Sabin hit a suicide dive on both Dawgs.\u00a0 [C]<\/p>\n<p>Titus used Ferrara as a battering ram and then catapulted him onto Shelley.\u00a0 A tag was attempted but Titus pulled Sabin off the apron before they could connect.\u00a0 Titus missed a doggy-splash and Sabin tagged in.\u00a0 Hurricanrana on Titus.\u00a0 At this point it\u2019s unclear which Dawg is the legal man as both have been in the ring for a long time.\u00a0 The Guns hit their Dream Sequence on Titus and a series of kicks on Ferrara.\u00a0 The Guns hit what appears to be their new finishing move (a double-team cradle driver?) but it\u2019s still unnamed by the commentators.\u00a0 This week they just said \u201cLook out!\u201d \u201cGot him!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Motor City Machine Guns at 7:44 to retain the ROH World Tag Team Titles.<\/p>\n<p>-MCMG\u2019s music was cut short by The Briscoes.\u00a0 From the top of the ramp Jay congratulated them on the win but told them the titles are the Briscoes\u2019 property and there\u2019s not a damn thing they can do to stop them.\u00a0 Mark stared them down and pointed at the belts.<\/p>\n<p><i>(Analysis:\u00a0 This was harmless.\u00a0 The Dawgs are still portrayed as more of a midcard comedy team than a legitimate threat so the loss doesn\u2019t hurt them.\u00a0 Cheeseburger all but vanished on commentary after the first twenty seconds so I\u2019m not sure why he was there unless the story is him finding a new partner to rekindle his feud with Ferrara.\u00a0 Meanwhile The Briscoes carry a palpable sense of menace these days.\u00a0 A ninth title reign in the near future seems inevitable at this point.)<\/i><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1936774404\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>-Shane Taylor was seated backstage with headphones on and his baseball cap pulled down low over his eyes.\u00a0 SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, &amp; Scorpio Sky) walked up and Daniels slapped him on the shoulder.\u00a0 SoCal were about to head out to the ring and they wanted to hire Taylor to ensure no Bullet Club members crashed the party.\u00a0 Kaz was going to elaborate but Taylor cut him off.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t care about the details.\u00a0 They write a check, he puts them down.\u00a0 Simple as that.\u00a0 They handed him an envelope and he threatened them that the check better clear.\u00a0 [C]<\/p>\n<p>[Q2]\u00a0 -Kenny King was backstage.\u00a0 \u201cKeep your head on a swivel,\u201d his mother used to say to him.\u00a0 He forgot this and it resulted in him getting hit in the head with a beer bottle at <i>Final Bottle<\/i> and jumped by three men last week.\u00a0 But that won\u2019t stop him and he\u2019s coming for the TV title that Silas Young stole from him.<\/p>\n<p><b>(2) JOSH \u201cTHE GOODS\u201d WOODS vs. JONATHAN GRESHAM<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Gresham beat Woods in a <i>Final Battle<\/i> dark match but Woods deemed it a fluke and asked for a rematch.\u00a0 The commentators mentioned Gresham referring to his in-ring style as \u201cpure wrestling\u201d and drew a link to the ROH Pure Championship that existed from 2004-2006.\u00a0 Gresham worked over Woods\u2019 left knee.\u00a0 [C]<\/p>\n<p>Woods blocked a monkey flip attempt but both men tumbled over the top rope.\u00a0 Gresham hit a slingshot splash onto Woods at ringside.\u00a0 When he attempted a second splash back into the ring Woods caught him with a big knee.\u00a0 Woods hit a trio of gutwrench slams for a two-count.\u00a0 Woods\u2019 knee pain began to catch up to him and Gresham pulled off a bridging pin for the win, the same finish as their last match.\u00a0 Cabana pointed out that Woods didn\u2019t learn his lesson but Woods shook Gresham\u2019s hand after the loss anyway.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jonathan Gresham at 8:49.<\/p>\n<p><i>(Analysis:\u00a0 Both men looked good and it appears that Gresham\u2019s losing ways are starting to turn around.\u00a0 I just don\u2019t know what to make of all the \u201cpure wrestling\u201d talk.\u00a0 Is it just a way to try to give Gresham some depth as a character or are they actually planning on bringing back the Pure Championship?\u00a0 I said last week that we\u2019ve already got five championships in this company so we really don\u2019t need a sixth.\u00a0 For that matter, this is our third episode of 2018 and we still haven\u2019t had one appearance or match by any of the Women of Honor.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>[Q3]\u00a0 <b>COLEMAN\u2019S PULPIT with COAST 2 COAST (Shaheem Ali &amp; LSG)<\/b><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1213352944\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Last month Ali and LSG decided that if they don\u2019t win their next match, they\u2019re going to disband as a team.\u00a0 Coleman said they\u2019re roommates and best friends.\u00a0 Is this what they want?\u00a0 No.\u00a0 They\u2019re brothers and they want to tag together.\u00a0 They just don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing wrong.\u00a0 They have a lot of respect for the other teams on the ROH roster.\u00a0 If they can\u2019t get it done, they shouldn\u2019t be taking other people\u2019s spots.\u00a0 Coleman brought up that the potential split was Ali\u2019s idea and made a crack about him being the weak link.\u00a0 This fired up Ali.\u00a0 He made it clear that they haven\u2019t given up yet and they intend to win.\u00a0 Coleman then revealed that he knows who their opponents are in the upcoming do or die match.\u00a0 It\u2019s War Machine.\u00a0 Coast 2 Coast were not happy about this but Coleman sincerely told them that anything is possible and he believes they can pull it off.\u00a0 [C]<\/p>\n<p><i>(Analysis:\u00a0 The \u201cwin or disband\u201d stipulation is one that Coast 2 Coast put on themselves after another in a long string of losses.\u00a0 It\u2019s clear there\u2019s no conflict between Ali and LSG.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t a teased break-up due to jealousy or frustration with the other person; this is simply two men wanting to prove to themselves that they belong in ROH and that they\u2019re capable of winning as a team.\u00a0 Going up against War Machine to prove that point is a big mountain to climb but this could be the beginning of a great redemption arc for them.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>-\u201cThe American Nightmare\u201d Cody made his entrance, dressed in a suit, for his first appearance since losing the World Championship at <i>Final Battle<\/i>.\u00a0 The fans booed when he noted that he\u2019s no longer champion despite the fact that they also cheered heartily for Castle as champion two weeks ago.\u00a0 Cody said Castle was the better man at <i>Final Battle <\/i>but he should have fun while he can because Cody\u2019s owed a rematch.\u00a0 He might not have the championship anymore but he does still have the \u201cofficial\u201d ring of honor.\u00a0 As the camera zoomed in on his ring, The Kingdom\u2019s music interrupted.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Taven made his way to the ring with a microphone while TK O\u2019Ryan and Vinny Marseglia stayed on the stage.\u00a0 Taven said Cody\u2019s had everything handed to him on a silver platter because of his last name.\u00a0 Cody didn\u2019t have the balls to come to ROH on his own, he had to kiss ass and join the Bullet Club.\u00a0 Taven\u2019s beaten everyone in the locker room but keeps getting looked over in favor of people like Cody.\u00a0 Cody\u2019s career synopsis will say \u201ca little undeserving, ungrateful, spoiled brat has now become nothing more than a little bleached blond bitch.\u201d\u00a0 Mic drop from Taven.\u00a0 Cody stopped him from leaving.\u00a0 He would love to give Taven the last word but he needed to point out that the reveal of his blond hair at <i>Final Battle<\/i> got a bigger pop than Taven will ever hear in his entire life.\u00a0 So there\u2019s only one thing left to do.\u00a0 Cody held out his hand.\u00a0 Taven hesitated, kissed the ring of honor, and kicked Cody between the legs.<\/p>\n<p><i>(Analysis:\u00a0 The Bullet Club face turn continues.\u00a0 With The Hung Bucks going at it with SoCal Uncensored and Cody pivoting into a feud with Taven that just leaves Marty Scurll on the fence.\u00a0 I\u2019m definitely on board with this.\u00a0 We all know Bullet Club will get cheered no matter what so why not use their popularity to help some heels get booed rather than undercut aspiring babyfaces?\u00a0 The quest of Taven to become the first ROH grand slam champion has been a driving storyline for a while now.\u00a0 I just love that every person on the roster has a clear goal and aspiration.\u00a0 That\u2019s what makes you invest in a character.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>-Video package on Punishment Martinez.\u00a0 He is the end.\u00a0 He is the executioner.<\/p>\n<p><b>(3) TEAM CMLL (Dragon Lee &amp; Tit\u00e1n) vs. BEST FRIENDS (Beretta &amp; Chuckie T) vs. THE YOUNG BUCKS (Matt Jackson &amp; Nick Jackson)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As Best Friends posed on the apron, Chuckie took a streamer right to the face and collapsed like he was shot.\u00a0 [C]<\/p>\n<p>[Q4]\u00a0 Chuckie and Tit\u00e1n started things off by exchanging chops to the chest.\u00a0 Chuckie put him down with a dropkick and tagged in his best friend.\u00a0 They hugged over Tit\u00e1n while the Bucks applauded.\u00a0 Tit\u00e1n gave Beretta a hurricanrana into the Bucks\u2019 corner so Nick tagged in.\u00a0 CMLL double-teamed Nick until Matt joined the fray.\u00a0 They took out CMLL, followed by Best Friends.\u00a0 Stereo dives from the Bucks onto Best Friends.\u00a0 Dragon Lee and Tit\u00e1n with a dive and a flip of their own onto the Bucks. \u00a0 Best Friends took the time to hug in the ring, then hit dives onto the other four men as their opponents simply stood there and watched.\u00a0 The Bucks took out Best Friends with superkicks, then put both of the luchadores into stereo sharpshooters.\u00a0 [C]<\/p>\n<p>Nick and Lee were the legal men.\u00a0 Lee hit a double-stomp in the corner.\u00a0 Tit\u00e1n was nowhere to be found so he tagged out to Beretta.\u00a0 Best Friends with a lawn-dart cutter on Matt for two.\u00a0 Tit\u00e1n with a blind tag on Matt.\u00a0 CMLL worked over Beretta.\u00a0 Frog splash from Tit\u00e1n for two.\u00a0 Matt and Chuckie decided to team up against CMLL.\u00a0 They were successful, then hugged, but Chuckie was quickly betrayed by a superkick from Nick.\u00a0 The Bucks with superkicks to everyone and a Meltzer Driver on Tit\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Young Bucks at 11:36.<\/p>\n<p>-Scorpio Sky appeared on the apron to distract the Bucks, allowing Daniels and Kaz to jump them from behind again.\u00a0 The Addiction targeted their knees until Hangman Page made the save with a steel chair.<\/p>\n<p><i>(Analysis:\u00a0 I\u2019m a bit surprised that the Bucks won simply because they\u2019re in the six-man division at the moment and Best Friends need the credibility more.\u00a0 But it also appears MCMG and the Briscoes will be tangling with the titles for a while so it\u2019s no harm, no foul, I guess.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The show overall wasn\u2019t as strong as the last two weeks but every match and segment continues to serve a purpose and be leading somewhere, which is always refreshing.\u00a0 There was no follow-up on the Shane Taylor segment, however.\u00a0 Daniels said they were heading out to the ring next and that never happened.\u00a0 Once they did hit the ring at the end of the show, Taylor wasn\u2019t there to keep Page away, which was the whole reason they paid him.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>-Next week:\u00a0 it\u2019s Coast 2 Coast vs. War Machine and the first appearance of Bully Ray since apparently retiring at <i>Final Battle<\/i>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NOW CHECK OUT LAST WEEK&#8217;S REPORT:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwtorch.com\/site\/2018\/01\/15\/1-14-roh-tv-report-huge-announcement-regarding-addiction-castle-boys-vs-kingdom-lethal-vs-ospreay-new-tag-partner-bruiser\/\">1\/14 ROH TV Report: Huge announcement regarding The Addiction, Castle &amp;
