Fox, Castro, Spade, Flex, more"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pwtor-1455926235\" class=\"pwtor-before-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><hr \/><b>SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)... <\/b>\r\n\r\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/widget.spreaker.com\/player?show_id=3076978&theme=light&playlist=false&playlist-continuous=false&autoplay=false&live-autoplay=false&chapters-image=true&episode_image_position=right&hide-logo=false&hide-likes=false&hide-comments=false&hide-sharing=false&hide-download=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"140px\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n<hr \/><\/div><h3><b>EVOLVE 104<br \/>\n<\/b><b>May 19, 2018<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><br \/>\n<\/span>Summit, Ill. at Summit Park District<br \/>\n<\/b><b>Aired on WWNLive<br \/>\n<\/b><b>Report by Butch Bowers (@teamshrink), PWTorch correspondent<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>This should be an interesting show.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>With Zach Saber Jr.\u2019s leaving and Keith Lee\u2019s imminent departure, there will be several new faces trying to earn attention. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">(1) <\/span><\/strong><b>AR Fox (w\/The Skulk) vs. Zachary Wentz.\u00a0<\/b>This is Wentz\u2019s first match on the evolve roster and the announcers played up what a big deal it would be for him to win.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This was a good match. It was a little sloppy in spots, but the crowd was really into it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Wentz looked good and I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll hang around a while.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They went about 20 minutes before Fox won with a Foxcatcher. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After the match, Skulk member Tommy Mazerati cut a promo and made and open challenge to the back.. The challenge was answered by Josh Briggs!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Briggs squashed Mazerati in about 10 seconds. Mazerati was mocked by the Skulk until they eventually helped him to the back.<\/p>\n<p><b>(2) Tracy Williams vs. Dominic Garrini (w\/Stokely Hathaway).\u00a0<\/b>This is the revenge match after Garrini hit Williams with a low blow after Hathaway fired him during the last show.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The match started with Hathaway cutting a promo saying that they would be fighting by \u201cCatchpoint rules:\u201d no punches, 3 rope breaks, a twenty count out of the ring.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They went back and forth, with Garrini cheating on Hathaway\u2019s interference.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The match ended when Williams caught Garrini in an armbar.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They teased Williams fighting the rest of Catchpoint, but they eventually all went to the back.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Kind of a let-down finish to an average match.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3)\u00a0<\/strong><b>Matt Knicks &amp; Chris Castro &amp; Isaias Velazquez vs. J.Spade &amp; Bu Ku Dao &amp; Jonny Flex.\u00a0<\/b>This match is part of the Freelance vs. Wildkats series.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Freelance guys (Knicks, Castro, &amp; Velazquez) got a big pop and were clearly the hometown favorites.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The announcers played up the rivalry between the two promotions. An entertaining match with everything from comedy spots to high flying moves.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Freelance went over on a straight pin by Castro on Flex.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The crowd was in this one the whole way.<\/p>\n<p><b>(4) Anthony Henry vs. Stevie Fierce.\u00a0<\/b>Henry drew some pretty good heal heat at the start.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is a continuation of a feud that\u2019s been going on in Freelance, and the crowd was definitely into it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They fought like two guys that don\u2019t like each other.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A decent match, but nothing special.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Henry went over with an unprettier followed by the pin. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After the match, they announced a match with two students of A.R. Fox\u2019s. Before they could start, Austin Theory and Priscilla ran in and beat them down.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They cut a promo and called out DJZ to fight RIGHT NOW!<\/p>\n<p><b>(5) WWN Championship: <\/b><b>Austin Theory (with Priscilla Kelly) vs. DJZ.\u00a0<\/b>This was a really good match with both guys doing some excellent spots.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They brawled outside the ring early, but eventually got back and worked several false finishes.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>DJZ got pinned after a low blow by Priscilla after clearly being in front most of the match.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Theory drew excellent heat after the match.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This definitely looks like it could be a good feud for the future. I\u2019m not sure why they ran it in the middle, because it sure seemed like it would have made a good main event.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-1832537909\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><b>(6) EVOLVE Tag Team Championship: <\/b><b>Chris Dickinson &amp; Jaka (w\/Stokely Hathaway) vs. The End.\u00a0<\/b>This is a continuation of a long feud and these guys started brawling before the bell even rang.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They brawled all over the arena. I\u2019m not sure a single chair was left standing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Brutal match with chairs, barricades, and billy clubs all in play.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Jaka got the pin after a top-rope dive. I like both of these teams.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The End definitely looks like they\u2019re ready to move up to a bigger promotion.\u00a0After the match, they went to intermission.<\/p>\n<p><b>(7) Four Way Freestyle:\u00a0 Darby Allin vs. Trey Miguel vs. Myron Reed vs. Snoop Strikes.\u00a0<\/b>It sounded like the crowd was still at intermission because there was total silence as the teams were introduced.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Or maybe, since Miguel and Reed are new, no one reacted to them.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Darby Allin got a little more reaction as he returns from injury.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Very fast-paced match with lots of crazy moves.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Snoop Strikes looked great in this match and Trey Miguel had a fine debut.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The match ended when Allin submitted Reed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After the match, Candy Cartwright came to the ring saying that \u201cJarek is coming.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Darby looked upset and left the arena. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>(8) Keith Lee vs. James Drake.\u00a0<\/b>This is the \u201choss battle\u201d of the show.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It was a pretty slow start with various tests of strength, but then the two big guys put on a luchador-style set that was really impressive for their size.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Unfortunately, after that it was just big men taking turns punching and chopping one another.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve a Keith Lee fan, but I didn\u2019t think this was one of his better matches.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It definitely checked the \u201choss\u201d box, though.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It seemed like the match went too long. The crowd kind of tuned out towards the end.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Lee went over with the Ground Zero.<\/p>\n<p><b>(9) Matt Riddle vs. Shane Strickland.\u00a0<\/b>They announced this as a non-title match.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Not surprisingly, Riddle came out to a nice pop and the \u201cBro\u201d chant.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They started off in a fast-paced technical match.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The announcers spent some time saying that Riddle is unpopular among the other wrestlers in the locker room, which was interesting.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Riddle sold that his left arm was injured and did a cool one-armed suplex.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They were definitiely setting up the injury to be an issue for tomorrow\u2019s Keith Lee match.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Strickland worked the arm for the entire match.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Riddle won by DQ when Strickland wouldn\u2019t break a submission when Riddle was on the ropes. Strickland continued to beat him down after the match.
