AT THE MODA CENTER IN ROSE QUARTER<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>AIRS ON USA NETWORK 8:00PM EDT<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>BY FRANK PETEANI, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Arena \/ Recap of Last Week<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>WWE Smackdown will emanate from the Moda Center in the Rose Quarter in Portland, OR. for the first time since February of 2016.\u00a0 As we did last night on Raw, we\u2019ll continue to get ready for the Super Showdown this Saturday as tonight we put on wrap on the Smackdown build.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Samoa Joe arrived at A.J. Styles\u2019 family home and rang the doorbell at the close of the show, leaving us wondering what happened next.\u00a0 Aiden English discussed his turning on Rusev and revealed that something happened with Lana \u201cone night in Milwaukee,\u201d but did not elaborate.\u00a0 Sheamus of the Bar defeated Big E of the Smackdown Tag Team Champions New Day in singles action.\u00a0 Naomi and Asuka defeated the IIconics in women\u2019s tag team action.\u00a0 U.S. Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Tye Dillinger in a non-title match.\u00a0 Smackdown Women\u2019s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Lana in a non-title match.<\/p>\n<p>Two matches have been announced ahead of tonight\u2019s show, as well as items pertinent to Super Showdown.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>G.M. Paige Addresses Samoa Joe<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At the Super Showdown, Samoa Joe will challenge A.J. Styles for the WWE Championship for the third PPV\/WWE Network in a row.\u00a0 As we know, the focal point of the feud has been Joe picking on A.J.\u2019s being on the road often and not being home for his family.\u00a0 Last week, Joe and A.J. were to have a contract signing when Joe revealed he was actually at A.J.\u2019s home via a selfie video.\u00a0 He went so far, much to the horror of A.J., to ring the doorbell saying \u201cdaddy\u2019s home\u201d to have the show go off the air.\u00a0 Tonight, Paige will address the situation.\u00a0 Here\u2019s what she said on Twitter:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealPaigeWWE\/status\/1046978407937036290<\/p>\n<p><em>Frank\u2019s Analysis:\u00a0 I had a feeling they may do something different than a traditional contract signing, and quite frankly I\u2019m not surprised they went in this direction.\u00a0 The problem for me is it took me out of the moment.\u00a0 A) It\u2019s not believable that Joe would go after A.J.\u2019s family considering their long-term friendship and B) if he was going to do it, he wouldn\u2019t be filming it for all the world to see.\u00a0 I\u2019m personally not a fan of angles being performed outside of the ring and this is no exception.\u00a0 With that said, the match at Super Showdown is no DQ\/no countout.\u00a0 It could end the feud for a while; however, with Crown Jewel looming Nov. 2 it\u2019s not out of the realm of possibility the feud continues.\u00a0 The results of the #1 contender\u2019s match between Miz and Daniel Bryan, and whether or not that feud is over, could also play into how the A.J.-Joe match plays out.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Becky Lynch\u2019s Planned \u201cSurprise\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Smackdown Women\u2019s Champion Becky Lynch will defend her championship against Charlotte Flair, her former best friend and the woman from whom she took the title at Hell in a Cell.\u00a0 Last week Becky attacked Charlotte at a photo shoot prior to the show, before going on to defeat Lana in a non-title match.\u00a0 According to <a href=\"http:\/\/wwe.com\/\">WWE.com<\/a>, Becky has a \u201csurprise\u201d for Super Showdown she will reveal tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Becky has been quite vocal on Twitter.\u00a0 Here\u2019s a tweet with the Super Showdown poster that doesn\u2019t show her picture:<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-294860351\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/BeckyLynchWWE\/status\/1046517778809856000<\/p>\n<p><em>Frank\u2019s Analysis:\u00a0 In storyline, I could see Becky being frustrated about not being on the Super Showdown poster as she is a champion.\u00a0 For all intents and purposes the \u201csurprise\u201d could be a poster with just her holding the title looking down at Charlotte.\u00a0 It could also be revealing someone being in her corner at Showdown, perhaps someone from the past making a return in time for Evolution.\u00a0 In any case it\u2019s a way to add some spice to this feud and get us to tune in, although for me the intensity between these two is enough to get me to want to see the match.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Fabulous Truth (R-Truth &amp; Carmella) vs. Andrade \u201cCien\u201d Almas &amp; Zelina Vega<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Fabulous Truth are part of the Mixed Match Challenge while Almas &amp; Vega are not.\u00a0 Last week, Truth &amp; Carmella took over MizTV and instead put out \u201cTruthTV\u201d at the onset of the show. Their guest was Daniel Bryan but were interrupted by the Miz who wanted his show back.\u00a0 Paige ordered Miz to face Truth in order to do so and came out victorious.<\/p>\n<p>Zelina Vega had some choice words about TruthTV on Twitter, and Carmella was not at a loss for words in her response:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/CarmellaWWE\/status\/1046157424497971200<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, Truth &amp; Carmella take on Almas &amp; Vega in mixed tag team action.<\/p>\n<p><em>Frank\u2019s Analysis:\u00a0 TruthTV was tough to watch, but just a way to bide some time in the feud between Miz and Daniel Bryan.\u00a0 Truth has also worked with Miz in the past, and as I\u2019ve talked about in past primers you need talent that can work TV matches and take losses without hurting their characters.\u00a0 As far as Carmella, I\u2019m still wondering when she turned babyface.\u00a0 This was the woman that defeated both Charlotte and Asuka and utilized James Ellsworth to do so at least with Asuka.\u00a0 All of that seems like a lifetime ago.\u00a0 With that said, I get the sense WWE doesn\u2019t see much in her as a wrestler, so this is fine although I can\u2019t help but comment.\u00a0 Truth and Carmella will likely lose to Almas and Vega, padding their resumes with the assumption WWE is high on Almas. <\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Daniel Bryan vs. Shelton Benjamin<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We haven\u2019t seen Shelton Benjamin on WWE programming in quite some time.\u00a0 He made no bones about saying so on Twitter:<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-993391184\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I Am a warrior I am a competitor &amp; I am DAMN GOOD!
