Of the most followed promotions in the United States (WWE, New Japan, ROH, and Impact), who is doing the best job making the most out of their female performers?

New Japan does not have any female talent, so they’re not in the discussion, obviously. WWE just had an all-women’s PPV, but the ongoing issue with Crown Jewel remains to put them in a negative light in regards to overall human rights. The fact that have ran two shows in six months at a place where women are not allowed to perform is unacceptable.

Impact is a tale of two women. Its champion is Tessa Blanchard and she is what most fans see as the future of women’s wrestling, a type of wrestling that puts women as equals to their male counterparts. However, its other female star Scarlett Bordeaux tends to bring us back to the “bra and panties match” era of women’s wrestling.

That leaves us with ROH. ROH has not had a televised women’s match on TV for six weeks. The last match on TV was a quick and forgettable match. Overall it feels like ROH wants to look like they respect women’s wrestling and want to look progressive in that regard. However, that is simply not the fact. Women need to be given time and stories in order to become stars. ROH needs to start working hard on getting the Women of Honor on every TV episode and have matches that people sign up to Honor Club to see.

Tyler has been a wrestling fan for 20 years (a handful of years he was a lapsed fan – 2003-’08, mainly), He’s from Columbus, Ohio.
