PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/h3>\n<p><em>Commentary: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman, Nick Aldis<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ian Riccaboni welcomed us to the show.\u00a0 Colt Cabana is in Japan for the New Japan Cup so he was instead joined by Caprice Coleman and the NWA World&#8217;s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.\u00a0 Aldis had his valet Kamille standing by.<\/p>\n<p>-Hometown heel Kenny King entered first.\u00a0 He had a guy in a white Villain outfit enter with him, flapping his arms.\u00a0 Scurll had a new red and black coat with spikes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) \u201cTHE VILLAIN\u201d MARTY SCURLL vs. KENNY KING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scurll sent King to the floor and took him out.\u00a0 He then followed with a superkick off the apron to King&#8217;s sidekick.\u00a0 King hit a blockbuster off the top rope for the first two-count of the night at 1:30.\u00a0 King remained in control, slowing things down.\u00a0 He knocked Scurll off the top rope and to the floor with a jumping enziguiri.\u00a0 Scurll avoided a corkscrew plancha and took King out with a tornado DDT off the apron.\u00a0 King with a spinebuster at 9:00.\u00a0 Superplex from Scurll.\u00a0 Royal Flush from King but Scurll rolled under the rope and to the floor before King could cover.\u00a0 King grabbed a steel chair and brought it into the ring.\u00a0 Referee Paul Turner grabbed it and pulled it away.\u00a0 As he disposed of the chair Scurll jabbed King with his umbrella and covered.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Marty Scurll in 12:42.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective: That felt longer than 12 minutes.\u00a0 King&#8217;s period of offense at the beginning was really slow and took the hot start to the show down to a cruise right away.\u00a0 Scurll getting the win by giving King a taste of his own medicine from their last encounter is fine poetry but it didn&#8217;t exactly make Scurll look like a big-time next world champion.<\/em><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) JEFF COBB vs. SHANE TAYLOR \u2013 ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-2040577246\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>They traded blows.\u00a0 Cobb caught him with a suplex.\u00a0 They rammed into each other like bulls.\u00a0 Cobb leapt over Taylor and caught him with a dropkick.\u00a0 Taylor responded with a pounce that sent Cobb flying.\u00a0 Cobb sent Taylor to the floor.\u00a0 Taylor tripped Cobb off the apron and speared him at ringside.\u00a0 Cobb avoided a cannonball in the corner.\u00a0 Delayed pumphandle suplex from Cobb.\u00a0 Taylor went bug-eyed at being held in the air like a baby.\u00a0 Taylor with a high knee.\u00a0 Superkick from Cobb, knockout punch from Taylor, lariat from Cobb.\u00a0 Cobb continued right through Taylor and the ropes to the floor.\u00a0 Both men were down.\u00a0 They traded right hands in the ring at 8:00.\u00a0 Jumping uppercut from Cobb.\u00a0 Cobb threw Taylor off the second rope.\u00a0 Standing moonsault.\u00a0 &#8220;This is awesome&#8221; chant.\u00a0 Headbutt from Taylor and a throw.\u00a0 Second rope splash for another near-fall.\u00a0 German suplex from Cobb with a bridge for a two-count.\u00a0 Inside out clothesline from Taylor.\u00a0 Canadian destroyer from Taylor for a close near-fall.\u00a0 The fans and commentators lost their minds.\u00a0 &#8220;Holy shit&#8221; chant.\u00a0 Taylor pulled down his right knee pad.\u00a0 Tour Of The Islands from Cobb but Taylor shrugged it off and refused to stay down.\u00a0 A second Tour was enough.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jeff Cobb in 13:28 to retain the TV title.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Fantastic match.\u00a0 Both guys looked great and should continue from here onto bigger things.\u00a0 This match was exactly one second shorter than Cobb-Page at\u00a0<\/em>Final Battle, <em>not quite as long Cobb&#8217;s recent defenses against Silas Young and Rocky Romero<\/em><em>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) MAYU IWATANI (w\/Sumie Sakai) vs. \u201cTHE GATEKEEPER\u201d KELLY KLEIN (w\/Camp Klein) \u2013 WOH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Klein clubbed her to the mat immediately.\u00a0 Iwatani rolled to the floor.\u00a0 Klein with a cravat and a succession of knees to the face.\u00a0 She ran Iwatani into the turnbuckles.\u00a0 Back elbow from Klein.\u00a0 Slingblade from Iwatani.\u00a0 Northern lights suplex.\u00a0 Second rope double-stomp.\u00a0 They traded strikes.\u00a0 Klein tossed Iwatani to the floor.\u00a0 German suplex from Iwatani.\u00a0 Klein responded with one of her own that dropped Iwatani on the back of her head.\u00a0 Top rope moonsault from Iwatani.\u00a0 She sort of missed the second one\/Klein sort of got her knees up.\u00a0 K-Power from Klein but Iwatani kicked out to a flat reaction.\u00a0 Klein talked trash and got caught with an inside cradle.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Mayu Iwatani in 8:52 to retain the WOH title.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Hm.\u00a0 The match was good, on the track to greatness but too short for that.\u00a0 I&#8217;m baffled that neither Camp Klein nor Sakai got involved and the finish was dull.\u00a0 It protects Klein obviously but it doesn&#8217;t set up anything going forward or for Iwatani defending in Madison Square Garden.\u00a0 I&#8217;m very happy that Iwatani is still champion but outside of that there&#8217;s little excitement around the future of Women Of Honor.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-The Kingdom&#8217;s music hit for a tag match but Matt Taven power-walked to the ring alone instead.\u00a0 He said he couldn&#8217;t sit backstage one more minute.\u00a0 &#8220;You suck&#8221; chant.\u00a0 He called Jay Lethal out and said he wants their match on the spot.\u00a0 Lethal answered the call.\u00a0 Bobby Cruise handled ring introductions.\u00a0 They threw punches and Todd Sinclair called for the bell.<\/p><div id=\"pwtor-3678159743\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lethal chopped down Taven.\u00a0 Taven with a suplex.\u00a0 Lethal with a clothesline.\u00a0 Hiptoss, cartwheel, dropkick from Lethal.\u00a0 Dragonscrew leg whip from Lethal at 6:30.\u00a0 They blocked each other&#8217;s finishing moves and Taven caught him with a spinning heel kick.\u00a0 Lethal with a dropkick at 10:00.\u00a0 Backbreaker.\u00a0 More chops.\u00a0 Taven with a dropkick.\u00a0 Powerslam from Lethal.\u00a0 Cloverleaf into a surfboard.\u00a0 Taven leapfrogged Lethal and tweaked his knee.\u00a0 Lethal backdropped him to the floor and Taven went down hard.\u00a0 Suicide dive.\u00a0 He dragged Taven around the ring and hit a second.\u00a0 Lethal finally hit his third suicide dive to complete the sequence.\u00a0 Taven was down on the floor for a while but Sinclair made no effort to count him out.\u00a0 Lethal continued to target Taven&#8217;s knee at 20:00.\u00a0 Taven with an eye rake, which Sinclair missed.\u00a0 DDT.\u00a0 Taven went after Lethal&#8217;s shoulder.\u00a0 Crossface.\u00a0 They talked trash.\u00a0 Taven remained in control at 25:00.\u00a0 Lethal avoided a frog-splash attempt and hit his Lethal Combination.<\/p>\n<p>Lethal called for Hail To The King.\u00a0 Taven cut him off.\u00a0 Lethal fought out of a superplex attempt.\u00a0 The red balloons appeared.\u00a0 Vinny Marseglia jumped in the ring and hit Lethal with his ax while an oblivious Sinclair chatted casually with TK O&#8217;Ryan on the apron.\u00a0 Jonathan Gresham showed up and battled the goons but got overpowered.\u00a0 Marseglia sat Gresham on the guardrail and O&#8217;Ryan hit his knee with a steel chair.\u00a0 The cameramen completely ignored the active wrestlers in the match and stayed on the ringside nonsense at 30:00.\u00a0 The henchmen set up a table on the floor.\u00a0 Sinclair continued to watch the ringside proceedings rather than the wrestlers in the world title match.\u00a0 Mark Haskins and Tracy Williams ran out with chairs to chase off the goons.<\/p>\n<p>ROH senior referee Todd Sinclair continued to watch the shenanigans and ignore the two wrestlers in the actual match.\u00a0 Taven low blowed Lethal and hit The Climax.\u00a0 Lethal mercifully kicked out.\u00a0 Taven looked for a second.\u00a0 Lethal blocked.\u00a0 Taven hit a rolling neckbreaker.\u00a0 Top rope frog-splash but Lethal kicked out again.\u00a0 Taven with another frog-splash but Lethal got his knees up.\u00a0 Cutter from Lethal.\u00a0 Torture rack.\u00a0 Running death valley driver.\u00a0 Hail To The King countered into a crucifix pin.\u00a0 Lethal kicked out and transitioned into a figure four.\u00a0 Despite Lethal having previously targeted his knee for 36 minutes, Taven was able to stay in one of the most painful submission moves in wrestling for five minutes without tapping.\u00a0 He eventually made a rope break.\u00a0 Lethal stomped on the knee.\u00a0 Lethal tried to suplex Taven from the apron into the ring but Taven countered into a falcon arrow that sent Lethal through the table at ringside at 40:00.<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair counted Lethal out as he lay amidst the wreckage.\u00a0 Taven dragged Lethal back into the ring.\u00a0 Lethal kicked out.\u00a0 Taven sat Lethal on the top rope and hit five kicks to the head.\u00a0 Backpack stunner but Lethal rolled out of a pin.\u00a0 Back body drop from Taven.\u00a0 Lethal hit Taven with a Climax.\u00a0 Taven kicked out of his own finishing move.\u00a0 Taven gave him the finger.\u00a0 Just The Tip (of Lethal&#8217;s knee).\u00a0 Lethal Injection!\u00a0 Taven kicked out for the loudest reaction of the night.\u00a0 Anguish?\u00a0 Relief?\u00a0 Exhaustion?<\/p>\n<p>Dueling chants from the crowd.\u00a0 Lethal with a cutter on the apron.\u00a0 Another cutter on the floor.\u00a0 Lethal grabbed a table from under the ring and set it up on the floor.\u00a0 He chopped Taven onto the table.\u00a0 Lethal started climbing to the top rope but Taven stopped him.\u00a0 DDT to Lethal on the apron.\u00a0 Taven found a ladder under the ring at 50:00.\u00a0 He lay the ladder as a bridge between the apron and the table.\u00a0 Lethal dropkicked Taven into a position lying across the ladder.\u00a0 Lethal looked for Hail To The King but Taven moved and Lethal crashed onto the ladder.<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair checked on Lethal for a couple minutes instead of counting him out.\u00a0 Medics came to help Lethal to the back.\u00a0 Taven jumped over the top rope onto all three men.\u00a0 Cutter.\u00a0 Just The Tip.\u00a0 Lethal kicked out.\u00a0 A second knee from Taven.\u00a0 A third.\u00a0 A fourth.\u00a0 Lethal was unconscious.\u00a0 Taven spat in his face.\u00a0 A fifth knee.\u00a0 Lethal kicked out again.\u00a0 Taven frog-splashed into a cutter.\u00a0 Taven kicked out.\u00a0 &#8220;This is awesome&#8221; chant.\u00a0 They threw hands from a kneeling position.\u00a0 Enziguiri from Lethal.\u00a0 Three superkicks.\u00a0 Lethal Injection!!\u00a0 Taven kicked out again in a very, very believable near-fall.\u00a0 Whew.\u00a0 The bell rang at the 60:00 mark.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Time limit draw in 60:00.\u00a0 Jay Lethal retains the world title.<\/p>\n<p>-Bobby Cruise ran over for Sinclair&#8217;s decision.\u00a0 They confirmed the draw.\u00a0 &#8220;Five more minutes&#8221; chant from the crowd.\u00a0 Aldis pondered what this means for Madison Square Garden.\u00a0 Marty Scurll walked out in street clothes.\u00a0 He held up the ROH world title with Lethal and Taven down on the mat.\u00a0 Scurll threw the belt over his shoulder and left.\u00a0 Taven and Lethal tried to stop him but couldn&#8217;t get off the mat.\u00a0 Once Scurll left the two finally reached their feet and faced off.\u00a0 Taven threw a streamer in Lethal&#8217;s face and left.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Where to start?\u00a0 This match going on so early raised many red flags.\u00a0 A non-finish was one that came to mind but I assumed something straightforward like The Kingdom causing the match to be thrown out.\u00a0 Nobody predicted a sixty-minute contest.\u00a0 Some of this was just okay, some was very groan-inducing like the continued story of Todd Sinclair being the worst referee in wrestling, and some was genuinely terrific.\u00a0 The last twenty minutes had the crowd in the palms of their hands.\u00a0 They of course never mentioned any time limit ahead of time and haven&#8217;t had a time limit draw outside of a proving ground match in (years?) so the arbitrary ending raises a lot of issues.\u00a0 Sinclair&#8217;s okay with interference, tables, and ladders but 60 minutes is just too long!\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 We&#8217;ve still got an hour left on the pay-per-view feed.\u00a0 The mid-match shenanigans at least explain why Gresham-Young and Kingdom-Lifeblood will no longer occur as scheduled.\u00a0 Overall this was a bold, unexpected approach.\u00a0 We&#8217;re obviously headed to a triple threat at MSG now.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Riccaboni introduced musician Mega Ran who&#8217;s composed an original song called &#8220;Going To The Garden&#8221; in honor of the\u00a0<em>G1 Supercard<\/em>.\u00a0 He and his entourage handed out merch to the fans.\u00a0 He hit the ring, encouraged the fans to clap along, and performed his song.\u00a0 Bully Ray walked out partway through and hurled a chair into the ring.\u00a0 He demanded they shut the music off.\u00a0 He thinks rap music sucks and they suck.\u00a0 Ray cut a really cheesy promo on them, making fun of his name and video games.\u00a0 He chased them out of the ring.\u00a0 He heeled on the crowd for a while and brought up Flip Gordon, again insisting that he never said &#8220;I quit&#8221; in their match at\u00a0<em>Final Battle<\/em>.\u00a0 Ray issued an open challenge for a New York City street fight to anyone in wrestling at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n<p>-Dalton Castle joined commentary in place of Nick Aldis.\u00a0 The Boys stood behind him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) BANDIDO vs. RUSH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They were evenly matched in the opening minutes.\u00a0 Bandido sent Rush to the floor with a headscissors.\u00a0 He looked for a second off the apron but Rush powered him up and powerbombed him through the timekeeper&#8217;s table at 2:30.\u00a0 This was apparently not worthy of a disqualification.\u00a0 Rush hit a dropkick in the ring and did the tranquilo pose to mixed boos.\u00a0 He went after Bandido&#8217;s mask and tossed him across the ring.\u00a0 He looked for a dropkick on Bandido seated in the corner but Bandido moved.\u00a0 Rush continued to cockily work over Bandido.\u00a0 Canadian Destroyer.\u00a0 Rush with a deadlift to Bandido off the apron into a suplex from the second turnbuckle.\u00a0 Rush sat on the middle rope and hung onto the top rope for a ridiculously long time so that Bandido could run around the ring, jump to the top rope, and then finally hit a 450 on him.\u00a0 Bandido springboarded into a dropkick.\u00a0 Rush flipped over the ropes onto him on the floor.\u00a0 Bandido with a hurricanra off the apron.\u00a0 Bandido with a Go To Sleep variant.\u00a0 Rush with a suplex into the corner.\u00a0 Rush stomped him down in the corner and hit a running dropkick for the win.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Rush in 15:04.<\/p>\n<p>-Castle seemed to imply on commentary that Rush&#8217;s heel mannerisms were inspiring to him.\u00a0 Castle entered the ring and looked at Rush.\u00a0 He called him a mountain of meat and put over Rush as being undefeated (though this was only his third singles match).\u00a0 Castle challenged him to a match at Madison Square Garden.\u00a0 Rush asked who he was and said he didn&#8217;t care.\u00a0 He seemed to accept.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Others might feel differently but I&#8217;m still so exhausted from the world title match that it was hard to get too into this one, even with the musical buffer segment.\u00a0 This should have gone on second or third when the night was young and everyone was full of vigor.\u00a0 They both showed off their signature styles but Rush&#8217;s tweener act in ROH is making things messy.\u00a0 Fans weren&#8217;t sure whether to cheer the guy who&#8217;s been feuding with The Kingdom or boo him for being arrogant.\u00a0 The ending felt flat too coming out of the last match.\u00a0 We just saw Lethal and Taven kick out of a zillion huge moves so Bandido taking the pin after one dropkick felt weak.\u00a0 Speaking of weak, Rush vs. Castle?\u00a0 This would have been a really exciting announcement had ROH not just spent two months burying Castle and having him pinned by everyone and anyone.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Riccaboni confirmed that Gresham-Young won&#8217;t happen due to Gresham&#8217;s knee and Kingdom-Lifeblood is off due to The Kingdom leaving the building after the time limit draw.\u00a0 Silas Young joined commentary in place of Castle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(6) THE BRISCOES (Jay Briscoe &amp; Mark Briscoe) vs. VILLAIN ENTERPRISES (PCO &amp; Brody King) \u2013 STREET FIGHT FOR THE ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both teams went to the floor and hurled a number of steel chairs into the ring.\u00a0 They fenced with the chairs, the Briscoes coming out on top.\u00a0 The clock struck midnight EST.\u00a0 Mark held a chair up for Jay to kick into PCO&#8217;s face.\u00a0 Mark ran PCO into the ring post.\u00a0 King&#8217;s broken left hand was in a cast.\u00a0 Jay struck a chair over his back.\u00a0 King with a step-up crossbody to Jay.\u00a0 Mark bit PCO&#8217;s nose.\u00a0 PCO hit a sit-out piledriver that put him and Mark through a table on the floor.\u00a0 King chopped PCO and whipped him into a splash on Jay in the corner.\u00a0 King followed with a cannonball.\u00a0 King hit a chair into a second chair wedged between Jay&#8217;s legs.\u00a0 Mark with a kendo stick to PCO&#8217;s back.\u00a0 Mark dropped him throat-first across the guardrail.\u00a0 Mark with a chair to King&#8217;s midsection.\u00a0 Mark brought a table into the ring and lay it in one corner.\u00a0 King ran Jay head-first into a chair and gave Mark a running death valley driver through the table.\u00a0 King with some chair shots to the brothers.\u00a0 Jay was bleeding from the forehead.\u00a0 PCO found a piece of broken table and clubbed Jay across the head.\u00a0 Jay unloaded on the villains with the kendo stick.\u00a0 Jay hit Mark with the kendo stick by accident.\u00a0 King took a turn using the stick.\u00a0 The Briscoes backdropped PCO onto the edge of the apron.\u00a0 He took another onto the entrance ramp.\u00a0 Jay was bleeding like a broken lawn sprinkler.\u00a0 Two more tables were set up next to each other at ringside.\u00a0 Mark hit a blockbuster off the top rope to King on the apron that put them both through the tables.\u00a0 Jay Driller to King.\u00a0 King kicked out of what was once the most protected move in all of ROH.<\/p>\n<p>The Briscoes teamed up with kendo shots to King.\u00a0 He asked for more.\u00a0 PCO took some stick shots directly to his head and no-sold them.\u00a0 He broke the sticks over his knee and clotheslined them both.\u00a0 PCO was bleeding from the forehead now too.\u00a0 The Briscoes stabbed PCO with pieces of the broken kendo sticks.\u00a0 PCO appeared to be coughing up blood.\u00a0 Mark found yet another table.\u00a0 King chokeslammed Jay onto the apron.\u00a0 He hurled Mark off the top rope and over the table onto a pile of chairs on the floor.\u00a0 Jay with a low blow to King.\u00a0 He looked for a Jay Driller off the apron and through the table.\u00a0 King countered into a piledriver of his own but they just hit the table and fell off without it breaking.\u00a0 King with a chair shot to Jay&#8217;s back.\u00a0 He lay a chair across Jay&#8217;s chest for PCO to hit a top spots earlier in the show and a three-team ladder war with the Briscoes in the main event of our last pay-per-view this would have stood out to me more.\u00a0 Both teams did the best they could under the circumstances but even by street fight standards this felt pretty ordinary: steel chairs, folding tables, kendo sticks.\u00a0 Nothing particularly memorable or new.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The take away from the show was meant to be the rise of Villain Enterprises with the win here and Scurll&#8217;s win and theft of the world title.\u00a0 I&#8217;m just not sure what an undefeated Villain Enterprises holding the tag titles does for the division as a whole.\u00a0 Also unclear what this means for the announced Briscoes vs. G.O.D. titles vs. titles match in Madison Square Garden.\u00a0 With <\/em>G1 Supercard\u00a0<em>three weeks away I thought we&#8217;d come away from this with a lot more answers as to what that card would look like.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t say Bully Ray vs. someone
