The article&#8217;s headline reads: \u201cReady to rumble: With a billion-dollar deal in its pocket, Vince McMahon\u2019s WWE has become a Wall Street darling, despite past baggage and future rivals.\u201d McMahon spoke with the magazine about the $1 billion broadcast deal with with Fox Corp. and his plans to drive a vast expansion of international operations and cement WWE\u2019s place as a mainstream part of the U.S. entertainment landscape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2019\/tv\/features\/wwe-vince-mcmahon-interview-smackdown-raw-1203213046\/\">FULL ARTICLE LINK<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>KEY EXCERPTS&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>\u2022On WWE\u2019s success:\u00a0\u201cSo few people understand what we do and how we do it. We\u2019re different than anything else that\u2019s out there. The respect factor is here, and now it\u2019s global.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022On the WWE\u2019s $1 billion Fox deal:\u00a0\u201cWWE talent will be appearing on [Fox] programming. It\u2019s going to be a totally integrated approach. We\u2019ve never had a platform like this in terms of promotion. Fox is going to go all-in, and they\u2019re great promoters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022On criticism that WWE\u2019s grueling schedule often has bad consequences for wrestlers:\u00a0\u201cAnybody who wants time off can get time off. That\u2019s easy. In addition to that, it\u2019s easy to weave a talent in and out of a storyline. If they get injured, you\u2019re not expecting that. Or if they have a family matter. Our characters are real people with real problems. It\u2019s a revolving situation where this talent will work these dates, that talent will work those dates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022On whether he\u2019d consider selling all or a partial stake in WWE:\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re open for business.\u201d He declined to elaborate.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022On Ted Turner\u2019s attempt in the \u201890s to turn World Championship Wrestling into a player on the scale of WWE:\u00a0\u201cTed Turner opened his checkbook and spent a lot of money buying our talent. We knew they\u2019d do okay for a while, but we knew they couldn\u2019t stand the grind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022On WWE\u2019s longevity:\u00a0\u201cI liken it to the military. At the end of the day I\u2019ve got these ribbons and all these medals, and I wake up the next morning, and every one of them is gone.
