PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR<\/h3>\n<p><em>Commentary: Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We opened to the sound of boos.\u00a0 In the arena Bully Ray stood on the stage, yelling at the commentators.\u00a0 He marched to ringside and grabbed a mic.\u00a0 He ordered ring announcer Bobby Cruise and referee Todd Sinclair out of the ring.\u00a0 He continued to complain about\u00a0<em>Final Battle\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>G1 Supercard<\/em>.\u00a0 He insulted one fan for being overweight, then another for looking homeless.\u00a0 He called out anyone from ROH for an open challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy Williams walked out with a trash can full of weapons over his shoulder.\u00a0 Williams feigned surprise that Ray wanted to make the show all about him.\u00a0 He said Ray made it clear that he won&#8217;t just go home like everyone wants.\u00a0 Williams accepted his challenge and suggested they make it hardcore, no DQ, anything goes.\u00a0 Ray kicked him between the legs and accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(1) \u201cHOT SAUCE\u201d TRACY WILLIAMS vs. BULLY RAY \u2013 NO DISQUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ray clubbed him with the microphone and ran him into the garbage can.\u00a0 Ray hit a suplex, then berated Sinclair for not counting quickly enough.\u00a0 Another suplex.\u00a0 &#8220;I invented Suplex City, bitch!&#8221;\u00a0 Honor Club crashed for me.\u00a0 We came back to Ray getting a table from under the ring.\u00a0 Kendo stick to Williams&#8217; back.\u00a0 Ray set up the table in the ring and lay Williams across it.\u00a0 Ray went up top but Williams hit a claw to Ray&#8217;s crotch.\u00a0 He set up for a Frankensteiner through the table but Ray shoved him off and across the ring.\u00a0 Williams surprised him with a crucifix pin.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Tracy Williams in 8:03.<\/p>\n<p>-Ray attacked Williams, then punched out Sinclair.\u00a0 Mark Haskins ran out but Ray immediately got the advantage and powerbombed him through the table.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Much like you Monday night sports entertainment viewers, if you were hoping for a big response from ROH to the buzz from AEW&#8217;s first pay-per-view, no dice.\u00a0 Instead we get The Bully Ray Show once again.\u00a0 Sure, he put over Williams but it was a fluke win and he then easily disposed of Haskins in a fair one-on-one situation.)<\/em><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-810593229\" class=\"pwtor-content pwtor-entity-placement\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x250\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>-The commentators ran down the card.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) DANIKA DELLA ROUGE vs. MAZZERATI<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mazzerati has appeared for Women Of Honor at least once before.\u00a0 This was the WOH debut for Rouge, who Riccaboni noted recently appeared at both the NXT and ROH combines.\u00a0 Mazzerati hit a northern lights suplex for two.\u00a0 Rouge went up top but was crotched by Mazzerati.\u00a0 They traded kicks.\u00a0 Eye rake from Mazzerati.\u00a0 Off With Her Head.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Mazzerati in 4:40.<\/p>\n<p>-The Allure hit the ring.\u00a0 Angelina Love and Mandy Leon attacked both women while Velvet Sky paced at ringside.\u00a0 Rouge got the lipstick treatment.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Women Of Honor is a joke.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Riccaboni announced that the 2019 Top Prospect Tournament will commence in July as 2017 winner Josh Woods made his entrance.\u00a0 He wore a shirt touting his new &#8220;Down To Fight&#8221; catch phrase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) MARK BRISCOE vs. JOSH \u201cTHE GOODS\u201d WOODS<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"pwtor-2160194084\" class=\"pwtor-content-1 pwtor-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: pwtorchcom_test_300x600 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x600\" id=\"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_test_300x600\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The men fought to ringside early.\u00a0 Woods tossed Briscoe into the guardrail and gave him an overheard suplex on the floor.\u00a0 Woods took him into the ring but Briscoe brought him back out and tossed him into the guardrail twice.\u00a0 Cactus Jack elbow off the apron.\u00a0 Briscoe proclaimed he was going to tap him out and locked on a chinlock.\u00a0 Woods fought out.\u00a0 Briscoe suplexed Woods onto the apron.\u00a0 They traded blows.\u00a0 Woods wanted a German suplex off the apron.\u00a0 Briscoe barely hung on to prevent it.\u00a0 Woods persevered and connected.\u00a0 &#8220;Holy shit&#8221; chant with both men down on the ringside mats.\u00a0 In the ring Woods hit a fireman&#8217;s carry swing-out into a knee.\u00a0 Briscoe landed next to the ropes and was able to grab the bottom rope to prevent the three-count.\u00a0 Briscoe rolled to ringside and grabbed a steel chair.\u00a0 As the referee discarded the chair Briscoe hit a low blow.\u00a0 Death valley driver.\u00a0 Froggy-bow.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Mark Briscoe in 11:17.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 A really nice match.\u00a0 If anyone can help elevate Woods it&#8217;s going to be your veteran hands like Briscoe.\u00a0 Kind of a bold decision to have him lose in only his second match back, though.\u00a0 For those of you keeping track at home we are at a ratio of 2 low blows to 3 matches so far tonight.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>(4) JEFF COBB vs. \u201cDAREWOLF\u201d PJ BLACK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was Black&#8217;s speed versus Cobb&#8217;s strength.\u00a0 The Honor Club stream went in and out starting at 6:15 and continuing through to the end of the match.\u00a0 Cobb won with Tour Of The Islands.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jeff Cobb in 12:05ish.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 With the two players involved we can assume this was a fun one.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Riccaboni announced that Mark Haskins had been pulled from the main event due to Bully Ray powerbombing him through the table.\u00a0 It would presumably be a three-way now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5) TAG TEAM GAUNTLET FOR A FUTURE ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Riccaboni said the winners would get their title shot sometime after the upcoming Guerrillas Of Destiny vs. Briscoes championship street fight happening on July 20 in New York City.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5a) THE VOROS TWINS (Patrick Voros &amp; Chris Voros) vs. ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION SHANE TAYLOR &amp; \u201cTHE TECHNICIAN OF HONOR\u201d SILAS YOUNG<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Young started against one of the twins.\u00a0 Honor Club continued to cut in and out.\u00a0 Taylor hit a pounce.\u00a0 The twins got a couple hope spots in.\u00a0 The stream crashed again.\u00a0 It appears that Young may have made both twins tap to an abdominal stretch at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Taylor &amp; Young in 7:30ish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5b) ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION SHANE TAYLOR &amp; SILAS YOUNG vs. RUSH &amp; DALTON CASTLE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rush and Castle bickered.\u00a0 The four heels threw hands.\u00a0 Castle and Young renewed their age old rivalry at ringside while Taylor and Rush paired up.\u00a0 Taylor and Young double-teamed Castle.\u00a0 Rush made the tag at 4:00 and cleaned house.\u00a0 He looked for his finisher on Taylor but Castle tagged himself in instead.\u00a0 They managed to get on the same page for a moment and hit Young with stereo dropkicks but things quickly fell apart again.\u00a0 Rush hit The Bull&#8217;s Horns on Young and pinned him.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Rush &amp; Castle in 5:56.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5c) RUSH &amp; DALTON CASTLE vs. COAST 2 COAST (LSG &amp; Shaheem Ali)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>C2C ran to the ring and pounced on their opponents.\u00a0 Ali threw Rush to the floor and went after Castle.\u00a0 The heels(?) trapped Castle in their corner.\u00a0 Rush turned his back on the apron, ignoring a tag request.\u00a0 He then gave Castle the middle finger.\u00a0 Rush eventually tagged himself in.\u00a0 Castle was offended that Rush did the tranquilo pose.\u00a0 Rush looked for his finisher on LSG but Castle tripped him.\u00a0 He took off but Rush chased and they fought on the stage.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: Coast 2 Coast in 5:07 by count out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5d) COAST 2 COAST (LSG &amp; Shaheem Ali) vs. THE BOUNCERS (Beer City Bruiser &amp; Brawler Milonas)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finally some babyfaces.\u00a0 Ali hit a suicide dive onto Bruiser as The Bouncers were taking their sweet time slapping hands with the fans.\u00a0 C2C took out Milonas at ringside but Bruiser came back.\u00a0 Top rope blockbuster from LSG to Bruiser.\u00a0 Crossbody from Milonas.\u00a0 Closing Time to Ali.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Bouncers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(5e) THE BOUNCERS (Beer City Bruiser &amp; Brawler Milonas) vs. THE KINGDOM (Vinny Marseglia &amp; TK O\u2019Ryan)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O&#8217;Ryan walked out on stage while Marseglia hopped the guardrail and jumped the Bouncers from behind.\u00a0 Last Call to O&#8217;Ryan.<\/p>\n<p>WINNERS: The Bouncers in 7:41.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 I had high hopes for this one but this was a mess.\u00a0 Four heel teams and one pair of jobbers to only one credible babyface team.\u00a0 Factor in the Honor Club issues and how short each match was and this didn&#8217;t help anyone in particular outside of continuing the Castle-Rush feud.\u00a0 I&#8217;m very astonished that the Briscoes-G.O.D. match isn&#8217;t happening at\u00a0<\/em>Best In The World\u00a0<em>but instead won&#8217;t take place until late July.\u00a0 I was excited when G.O.D. won the titles because it was so unexpected and there seemed like a lot of possibilities there.\u00a0 Instead they&#8217;ve only been around for one short tour and have interacted with nobody but The Briscoes.\u00a0 The tag division is worse as a result.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Kenny King joined commentary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(6) JAY LETHAL vs. JAY BRISCOE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Briscoe went for a steel chair twice in the opening four minutes.\u00a0 Lethal grabbed a mic and asked what happened.\u00a0 He said this wasn&#8217;t the same Briscoe who was undefeated for two years.\u00a0 This wasn&#8217;t ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe.\u00a0 He suggested they stop with the nonsense and get back to seeing what happens when you put two great wrestlers alone in the ring.\u00a0 He told Briscoe to drop the chair and man up.\u00a0 Honor Club went down again before Briscoe could respond.<\/p>\n<p>Briscoe was in control when we came back but bleeding from above the eye.\u00a0 He remained dominant until Lethal hit a suicide dive at 14:20.\u00a0 He completed his signature trio.\u00a0 They faced off in the center of the ring and threw hands.\u00a0 Lethal Combination.\u00a0 Superplex from Briscoe.\u00a0 Figure four from Lethal.\u00a0 Lethal hit some kicks, prompting King to head to ringside.\u00a0 He jawed at Lethal.\u00a0 Briscoe avoided an elbow drop.\u00a0 Jay Driller.\u00a0 Lethal kicked out and the stream crashed again.<\/p>\n<p>King had a steel chair and placed it on the apron for Briscoe.\u00a0 He told Briscoe to handle his business.\u00a0 &#8220;You know what to do.&#8221;\u00a0 Briscoe picked up the chair as Lethal got to his knees.\u00a0 Briscoe looked at the fans, then chucked the chair at King.\u00a0 Lethal Injection.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Jay Lethal in 24:36.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 Briscoe does the right thing and loses as a result.\u00a0 This, coupled with Mark&#8217;s cheating earlier in the night, would seem to indicate that the brothers are still heels.\u00a0 But who knows these days?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-A Matt Taven video package aired.\u00a0 He was in full conspiracy theorist mode.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(7) ROH WORLD CHAMPION MATT TAVEN vs. ROH WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TEAM CHAMPION PCO vs. FLIP GORDON vs. \u201cOVERKILL\u201d MARK HASKINS \u2013 DEFY OR DENY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Defy Or Deny is an elimination match.\u00a0 If a challenger wins, they earn a future world title match.\u00a0 If the champion wins, the person he defeats to end the match can never challenge again so long as he&#8217;s champion.\u00a0 Cruise announced this would be a three-way due to Haskins&#8217; table spot at the start of the night but Haskins staggered out before the bell rang and refused to let the opportunity pass him by.\u00a0 Taven bailed to ringside and took a seat to watch the other three fight.\u00a0 The three faces chose to lock up rather than go after him.<\/p>\n<p>Taven tried to steal some roll-ups but immediately ran back into the crowd when Gordon and Haskins kicked out.\u00a0 Haskins unloaded with chops and knee strikes on PCO but the monster shrugged them off.\u00a0 Haskins and Gordon caught and double-teamed Taven.\u00a0 They tossed him in the ring and the trio surrounded him.\u00a0 They each took turns chopping the world champion.\u00a0 \u00a0Taven was left bleeding from the chest.\u00a0 More tandem offense from the challengers.\u00a0 Taven moved and Haskins took out Gordon with a knee by accident.\u00a0 Taven tossed Haskins into the guardrail but was flattened by a cannonball from PCO.\u00a0 Taven went after the eye that he stabbed in Toronto.\u00a0 PCO avoided a Climax.\u00a0 Gordon and Haskins teamed to hit a powerbomb from PCO on the apron to the floor.\u00a0 Taven followed with a splash onto everyone at ringside.\u00a0 Then Gordon onto everyone.\u00a0 Then PCO with a moonsault onto everyone.\u00a0 Pop-up powerbomb to Taven in the ring.\u00a0 PCO with a tombstone to Taven + chokeslams to Haskins and Gordon at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>O&#8217;Ryan and Marseglia ran out.\u00a0 O&#8217;Ryan distracted referee Todd Sinclair.\u00a0 Taven hit PCO with a steel chair.\u00a0 He no-sold and grabbed the chair.\u00a0 PCO hit Taven with it.\u00a0 Sinclair saw and called for the bell.\u00a0 Cabana said Taven&#8217;s goons aren&#8217;t allowed at ringside during world title matches but the title wasn&#8217;t on the line here.<\/p>\n<p><em>PCO was eliminated at 14:48 by disqualification.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At 16:00 Haskins started to sell a back injury from the Bully Ray table spot for the first time.\u00a0 Strikes to Taven.\u00a0 Gordon and Haskins fought and took each other out with suicide dives.\u00a0 Top rope double-stomp to Taven from Haskins.\u00a0 He and Gordon kept getting in each other&#8217;s way of eliminating Taven.\u00a0 Double-stomp to Gordon.\u00a0 Taven rolled him up with a handful of tights.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mark Haskins was eliminated at 19:22.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gordon and Taven threw hands.\u00a0 They fought up the ramp and onto the stage.\u00a0 Gordon with a superkick and a blockbuster off the stage onto Taven in the aisle.\u00a0 Somehow Sinclair was only at a 9-count despite them being outside the ring for a good three minutes.\u00a0 Taven rolled out of the way of a 450.\u00a0 Gordon looked for a running hurricanrana off the apron but Taven caught him and powerbombed him through the timekeeper&#8217;s table.\u00a0 Taven with a top rope frog-splash but Gordon kicked out.\u00a0 (LOL)\u00a0 Slingblade.\u00a0 Twisting falcon arrow.\u00a0 Taven countered a Flip-5 into the Climax for the clean pin.<\/p>\n<p>WINNER: Matt Taven in 25:50.\u00a0 Flip Gordon can never challenge for the world title again so long as Taven is champion.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Pageot\u2019s Perspective:\u00a0 An entertaining match, despite ROH&#8217;s best efforts.\u00a0 It seems to have become some sort of personal challenge to the bookers to see how many low blows, chair shots, outside interference, and other shenanigans they can cram into one show.\u00a0 In the late &#8217;90s it probably wouldn&#8217;t have stood out.\u00a0 But with how rarely we see that kind of nonsense in other promotions these days it always stands out here and the heat always goes onto the writing team, not the characters.\u00a0 They have so many incredibly talented stars on the roster but none of them get to showcase their full potential due to the half-hearted booking and weak, or nonexistent, storylines.)<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Find Harley on Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/talkinghonor\">@talkinghonor<\/a> and listen to the PWT team talk all things ROH every Wednesday on the PWTorch Dailycast \u201cTalking Honor.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"pwtor-end-article-groups pwtor-entity-placement\" id=\"pwtor-189233621\"><div id=\"pwtor-187956419\"><div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280\" id=\"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\", slotId: \"pwtorchcom_medrec_3\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\nTHANK YOU FOR VISITING<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>ROH STATE OF THE ART JUNE 2, 2019 PORTLAND, OR AT VIKING PAVILION AIRED ON ROH HONOR CLUB REPORT BY HARLEY R.
