Logan climbed through the ropes onto the apron, then ran at Brooke from behind and planted her knee into Brooke’s back. Brooke was fired violently into the ring post, forehead first. It was shocking to hear and see, and Logan followed up with a scripted wolf howl into the air.

Logan dragged Brooke into the ring and pinned her for a two-count, then the referee noticed the blood on Brooke’s face and hand and called time. Logan took a seat on a top turnbuckle and looked around at the crowd. Within 30 seconds, the referee called for the match to end and the bell was rung. Logan wandered out of the ring attempting not to look concerned while Brooke was tended to in the ring.

WINNER: Ring Post by knockout.

(Meyers’s Analysis: Brooke’s head blasting into the post was brutal, and it’s shocking she wasn’t concussed. Something went wrong on the move – either she should’ve had her hand up to protect her skull, or she was expecting to go shoulder-first rather than face-first.)

-Main Event recap session:

Replay of Roman Reigns’s beat down of Shane and company from Raw

Replay of Becky Lynch’s in-ring promo and Lacy Evans’s response from Raw

Replay of Moment of Bliss, featuring Bayley and Nikki Cross, from Smackdown

Replay of Firefly Fun House

Replay of Rollins & Kofi vs. Owens & Zayn from Smackdown

(2) CEDRIC ALEXANDER vs. ROBERT ROODE

Roode was introduced as “the Glorious Robert Roode,” and was once again sporting his full beard. Roode was permitted to perform his full ring entrance, stopping to pose at the top of the ramp and within the ring.

The wrestlers exchanged arm bars and go-behinds, then things got more impactful with Alexander delivering multiple big chops and drop kicks. Alexander covered for a two count, then went to work on Roode’s left arm. Alexander leveraged Roode down to the canvas and stood on his left wrist, allowing Alexander to mimic Roode’s poses. Alexander shouted “glorious!” and hit Roode with an elbow drop. Both men got back to their feet and Roode found a moment to strike and leveled Alexander from behind with a clubbing blow. We cut to commercial with Alexander writhing on the mat.

After the break, Byron explained that Alexander was trying to feed off the energy of the WWE universe as he got to his feet. Alexander hit Roode with a European uppercut, a big boot when Roode charged at him, and then knocked him down with a springboard clothesline off the top rope. Alexander did a handspring bounce off the ropes then took Roode down with the Neuralizer – this was good for a two-count.

Alexander stripped the elbow pad off his right arm and locked his arms around Roode’s waist, but Roode countered and worked Alexander into a sunset flip and pin for a two-count. Alexander conducted another handspring bounce but Roode intercepted this time and planted Alexander into the mat with a spinebuster. Roode rolled up Alexander for another two-count.

Roode quickly got to his feet and did his build up for the “glorious” chant, but Alexander fought his way out of the Glorious DDT attempt, backing Roode into a corner. Roode knocked Alexander off the top rope, allowing him to lock on and land the Glorious DDT for the pin and victory.

WINNER: Robert Roode by pinfall.

(Meyers’s Analysis: A totally solid singles match that really sparkled after the debacle of a first match. Alexander is obviously the flashier of the two, but he had good chemistry here with Roode. Alexander does a fantastic job of appearing to fall awkwardly when being knocked down from high places. We got to see both finishers, but Alexander’s came too early in the match to put Roode away. Meanwhile, Roode’s finisher was teased before finally landing for the win.)

SHOW SCORE (0-10): 8.4

FINAL THOUGHTS: If you’re a voyeur for the rare in-ring mistake in a WWE match, check out the first match.
