Look out, Rina and Hanan.)

-Oedo Tai revealed Sumire’s new beach towel, on sale now. It has an artistic impression of her lips, nose, eyes, and eyebrow and her signature along with the text “horrible thick makeup.” LOL Ruaka said Sumire beat her in Yokohama so she wanted to win here.

(2) TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Death Yama-san & Ruaka) vs. OEDO TAI (Natsu Sumire & Natsuko Tora)

Sumire reluctantly started against Death. Sumire whipped Ruaka at 2:30 before the referee saw her whip and took it away. With his back turned she mounted Ruaka and pulled out a blackjack, spanking her across the derriere multiple times instead. Crotch assault to Death at 5:00. Death and Ruaka took turns running over Tora. Fishergirl suplex to Tora from Ruaka but Sumire broke up the pin. Tora hit a top rope leg drop on Ruaka to end things.

WINNERS: Oedo Tai in 8:16.

(Pageot’s Perspective: A strong showing from Ruaka who seems to be trying her hardest.)

-Miyagi screamed at the bastards in Nagoya, startling Hayter. Onozaki said this was her first time teaming with AZM. Oedo Tai had strong opponents but they had teamwork.

(3) QUEEN’S QUEST (AZM & Leo Onozaki) vs. OEDO TAI (Andras Miyagi & Jamie Hayter)

Miyagi and AZM started. Miyagi powered out of most of AZM’s offense. The size and experience edge came through with Hayter pinning Onozaki.

WINNERS: Oedo Tai in 4:44.

-Oedo Tai phoned it again by simply saying they’d do their best. Hoshiki said they’re the Starlight Team (hoshiki meaning starlight in English). That made Oedo Tai the moon. They both watned Hazuki but Kid admitted she also wanted Kagetsu a bit because Kagetsu’s apparently been mocking her poses lately.

(4) STARS: STARLIGHT TEAM (Wonder Of Stardom Champion Arisa Hoshiki & Starlight Kid) vs. OEDO TAI (High Speed Champion Hazuki & Kagetsu w/Natsu Sumire)

Kid and Hazuki started. Kagetsu tripped her as she ran the ropes and the heels took over. Hot tag to Hoshiki at 4:25. Hazuki accidentally hit Kagetsu with a codebreaker and Kid followed with a code red for a near-fall. Sumire grabbed the referee’s leg and Hazuki hit Kid with the Oedo Tai placard. Lion-tamer from Kagetsu to Kid for the tap out.

WINNERS: Oedo Tai in 11:52.

-Hoshiki and Hazuki tussled and had to be separated by their stables.

(Pageot’s Perspective: It still feels strange to have Kagetsu not involved in any big singles matches or storylines. I assume they’re just taking a breather post-red belt and that things will ramp up for her again come Grand Prix season. Hoshiki will defend the white belt against Hazuki on July 24, hence the existence of this match.)

-Kimura had to be led onto the set by her international army due to the fact that she was wearing outlandish cartoon kid’s alien goggles(?). Nakano said that yesterday that selfish Kimura asked for a title shot for today but they welcome it. They always defend against anyone.

(5) STARS (Mayu Iwatani, Tam Nakano, & Saki Kashima) vs. TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Hana Kimura, Bobbi Tyler, & Zoe Lucas) – ARTIST OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP

TCS attacked during Iwatani’s introduction and the teams immediately fought into the crowd with fans scattering in every direction. Iwatani had Kimura in a guillotine choke at 10:00 but Kimura powered her up and over into a vertical suplex. Octopus from Kimura but Nakano broke it up. Stereo superkicks from Nakano and Kashima to Kimura. Wheelbarrow DDT/German suplex combo from Nakano & Iwatani. The Brits prevented an Iwatani moonsault and Kimura hit a superplex instead. Tag to Tyler. Pump-kick but Iwatani kicked out. Cutter from Nakano to Lucas. Bulldog from Kashima to Kimura. Stars cleared the ring and all three went up top. Synchronised crossbodies off three top turnbuckles to three opponents! Tyler found herself alone in the ring and took a succession of kicks from all three champions. Nakano dragged her into position for the Iwatani moonsault.

WINNERS: Stars in 15:26 to retain the trios titles.

(Pageot’s Perspective: Some really great stuff down the stretch there. TCS’ brat squad lose again, which should create an interesting dynamic within the group if what I think is going to happen in the next match happens.)

-Kyona said that it was Konami’s birthday and they were in in Kyona’s hometown. Hayashishita said she’d crush Kyona and they’d retain the titles, putting the numbers of defenses out of anyone’s reach.

Kyona and Konami were followed from the backstage through the curtain and into the arena. Hometown hero Kyona was presented with a surplus of bouquets in the ring from her family. The tag champs were also shown backstage before heading out.

(6) QUEEN’S QUEST (SWA World/Future Of Stardom Champion Utami Hayashishita & Momo Watanabe) vs. TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Jungle Kyona & Konami) – GODDESS OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP

Big fight feel out of the gate. Watanabe and Konami started but tagged out quickly. Hayashishita whipped Kyona into the ring post. QQ isolated Kyona and worked her over. Double suplex reversed and hot tag to Konami at 7:20. TCS were in control over Watanabe at 10:00. When Kyona missed the top rope splash Watanabe took control again. All four women were down heading into the 15:00 mark. Kyona powerbombed Hayashishita off the second rope. Midnight Hour form Konami and Kyona to Watanabe. Top rope splash from Kyona connected on Hayashishita but she rolled the shoulder up at two. Hayashishita with a rear naked choke but Konami broke it up. Torture rack slam but Kyona kicked out. Konami with a release German suplex to Hayashishita. Kyona with a muscle buster. It was Watanabe’s turn to break up the pinfall. Watanabe and Konami sent to the floor. Kyona with the hammer throw powerbomb to Hayashishita.

WINNERS: Tokyo Cyber Squad in 19:58 to capture the tag titles.

-The new champions were overcome with emotion. Kyona proclaimed that the hometown girl became the new champion. “Kyona” chant from the crowd. She said she felt bad for losing last time in Nagoya (on March 3 to Watanabe for the white belt). Today they’re tears of happiness, though.

Kagetsu and Miyagi crashed the party. Miyagi said the match was interesting. These two duos were already scheduled to face off on July 24 in Korakuen Hall. So why not make it a title match now? Miyagi said she was looking forward to fighting Kyona. Kyona said she was looking forward to it too. They had a stare down while Konami and Kagetsu smirked in the background.

(Pageot’s Perspective: Very good match. A little formula for me in the middle with the long period of one person selling, followed by a long period of an opponent from the other team selling, but that’s most tag matches. I still want Kyona to win the red belt or at least the white belt but if Watanabe could do double duty and Hayashishita could hold four titles at once, it’s not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose. In the meantime, here’s to a long title reign full of great defenses! Kyona now ties Kairi Sane and Kyoko Kimura for most reigns with the Goddess tag titles at 3.)

THANK YOU FOR VISITING

STARDOM BIG SUMMER IN NAGOYA JULY 15, 2019 NAGOYA, JAPAN AT NAGOYA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HALL AIRED ON STARDOM WORLD REPORT BY HARLEY R.
