PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR

Rina said she didn’t care about Iida; she wanted to pin her sister. Hina said she keeps losing to the Iidabashi. Iida said she’d do her best.

(1) SAYA IIDA vs. HINA vs. RINA

The twins went after each other immediately, ignoring Iida. In the end Iida pinned them both simultaneously with a double Iidabashi.

WINNER: Saya Iida in 4:54.

(Pageot’s Perspective: Iida is now 5-17 in singles competition this year, not significantly worse than Starlight Kid or Hanan at this point. If she can gain a victory over Hanan that should be enough to put her into competition for the high speed title at this point. At the very least I’ll be surprised if she isn’t the next Future Of Stardom champion.)

-Kid said this match marks her having wrestled every member of Stars one-on-one. Kid has a forthcoming high speed title match so she and Nakano both conditioned us to expect Kid to win here.

(2) TAM NAKANO vs. STARLIGHT KID

Nakano dominated but couldn’t put Kid away. Kid hit sliced bread and her twisting splash for a near-fall of her own but Nakano kicked out. Nakano hit Kid with a superkick as she came off the ropes and they both went down. The bell rang.

DECISION: Time limit draw in 15:00.

(Pageot’s Perspective: Not a victory but still significantly not a loss for Kid. Nakano is consistently portrayed as an upper midcarder whereas Kid almost exclusively beats the rookie squad. The fact that she didn’t lose here is an accomplishment in itself.)

-Tora said it was hot again but they’d do their best. Lucas was crying that her tour had come to an end. Tyler consoled her while Ruaka laughed.

(3) OEDO TAI (Hazuki, Natsuko Tora, & Jamie Hayter) vs. TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Bobbi Tyler, Zoe Lucas, & Ruaka)

Ruaka of course took the pin, following a cheap shot from Hayter and top rope senton from Hazuki.

WINNERS: Oedo Tai in 10:56.

-Miyagi was anguished to admit that she’s recently grown to like someone. Kagetsu and Sumire did a doo-wop style call and response asking, “Who is it??” She screamed that she can’t say it; she has to show them in the ring. AZM said that Miyagi tweeted out the night before that she’s like a mom to AZM and would watch over her. But Oedo Tai are bad so she’d be careful and avoid any trouble. Watanabe also wanted to protect AZM and get payback for Oedo Tai laughing at her losing both her titles.

(4) ARTIST OF STARDOM CHAMPIONS OEDO TAI (Kagetsu, Andras Miyagi, & Natsu Sumire) vs. QUEEN’S QUEST (World Of Stardom Champion Bea Priestley, Momo Watanabe, & AZM) – NON-TITLE MATCH

AZM and Miyagi started. AZM attacked her mom and knocked both of her aunties off the apron before tagging out. She of course took the loss in the end, though, tapping out to Kagetsu.

WINNERS: Oedo Tai in 10:46

(Pageot’s Perspective: Joining Oedo Tai is about the only thing that could save AZM at this point after being damaged so badly by all the repeated failures to capture the high speed title. It would also give them their lone junior member, which would be interesting, even if that would just ensure she continues to lose over and over and over.)

-Onozaki said this was her first title match ever. Hayashishita said this was her fourth defense of the future title. Onozaki’s changed a lot in the past year and since joining Queen’s Quest so she wanted to see how much she’s changed.

(5) SWA WORLD CHAMPION UTAMI HAYASHISHITA vs. LEO ONOZAKI – FUTURE OF STARDOM CHAMPIONSHIP

Onozaki fought spiritedly but the decision was never in doubt. Hayashishita won with a torture rack into a German suplex.

WINNER: Utami Hayashishita in 5:27 to retain the future title.

-Suddenly Maika, from Taka Michinoku’s promotion Just Tap Out, appeared in the ring. She said she’d be wrestling Hayashishita at their September 24 show in Korakuen Hall and they will main event over Michinoku vs. Daisuke Sekimoto. The Future belt is for young wrestlers? Why doesn’t Hayashishita put it on the line in that match then. Hayashishita called her selfish but said she had the courage to show up in Stardom so she accepted… if only because it will raise her number of successful defenses record.

(Pageot’s Perspective: A nice surprise at the end that saved an otherwise formulaic segment. There’s no one credible in Stardom right now to take the future title so Hayashishita defending it in other promotions is a good way to go.)

-The tag champs were without Kimura. They said it was really hot again. They wondered where Kimura was. Konami asked if TCS is okay. Kyona admitted there’s no unity. Kashima was also fanning herself in the heat while Iwatani nursed a water bottle.

(6) STARS (Wonder Of Stardom Champion Arisa Hoshiki, Mayu Iwatani, & Saki Kashima) vs. TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Hana Kimura & Goddess Of Stardom Champions Jungle Kyona & Konami)

Kyona and Hoshiki started. Kimura dragged Kashima into the crowd and kicked her down the stairs. Kyona connected with the top rope splash on Hoshiki at 12:20 but the rest of Stars broke up the pin. In the end Kashima tapped to Konami’s triangle lancer.

WINNERS: Tokyo Cyber Squad in 16:40.

-Kyona said Korakuen Hall is going to be interesting. Hoshiki looked confused, like she was only now piecing together that Kyona is her next challenger. They shook hands.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING

STARDOM SHINING SUMMER AUGUST 3, 2019 TOKYO, JAPAN AT SHIN-KIBA 1ST RING AIRED ON STARDOM WORLD REPORT BY HARLEY R.
