PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR

Rina said she wanted to score a three-count on AZM. Hina was nervous but wanted to stand out. AZM simply proclaimed “Three-way!”

(1) AZM vs. HINA vs. RINA

AZM stacked Rina onto her sister and hit a top rope double-stomp onto both of them before covering both of them for the win.

WINNER: AZM in 5:03.

(Pageot’s Perspective: The twins are looking noticeably older than they did at the start of the year. There’s a big difference between twelve and thirteen.)

-Martina & Sumire’s pre-match promo was shot in a staircase outside the arena! (I literally requested this in my October 19 report.) Martina was dangling upside down on the stairs. She said they haven’t stopped drinking in two weeks. Onozaki said she and Watanabe were teaming against the weirdos. She’s an adult too but she’s responsible.

(2) THE DRUNK QUEENS (Artist Of Stardom Champion Natsu Sumire & Session Moth Martina w/Natsuko Tora) vs. QUEEN’S QUEST (Momo Watanabe & Leo Onozaki)

Martina took a swig of beer and spit it in Watanabe’s face. Sumire freaked out. Watanabe’s 19 and the drinking age in Japan is 20. They’ll get in trouble! Tora provided misdirection on the apron as Oedo Tai hit stereo crotch assaults on QQ. In the end Sumire pinned Onozaki.

WINNERS: The Drunk Queens in 6:06.

-Lucas was upset because Tyler told the producers they were ready to film their promo even though their hair wasn’t finished and they weren’t pretty yet. Iwatani & Kashima appeared to be under the impression that this was a tag league match but it’s not. Their teams are in different blocks.

(3) STARS (Mayu Iwatani & Saki Kashima) vs. TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Bobbi Tyler & Zoe Lucas)

Lucas Landslide countered into a Revival from Kashima.

WINNERS: Stars in 8:05.

-Iida said it seemed like Hoshiki and Nakano’s relationship is maybe not so good. Kamitani suggested they take advantage of their in-fighting. Hoshiki was away working in Taiwan for a week. Nakano said she was waiting for her at the dojo.

(4) DREAM*SHiNE (Wonder Of Stardom Champion Arisa Hoshiki & Tam Nakano) vs. 3838 TAG (Saya Iida & Saya Kamitani) – BLUE GODDESSES BLOCK

Iida fell to a series of kicks from Hoshiki.

WINNERS: DREAM*SHiNE in 7:08.

(Pageot’s Perspective: As expected. There are only really two teams in the blue block who should conceivably win based on their recent track records.)

-Kagetsu & Miyagi said nothing again. Kimura & Yama-San simply chanted their names again.

(5) ARTIST OF STARDOM CHAMPIONS OEDO TAI (Kagetsu & Andras Miyagi) vs. TOKYO DEATH SQUAD (Death Hana & Death Yama-San) – BLUE GODDESSES BLOCK

Death rolled up Miyagi for the win.

WINNERS: Death in 6:45.

(Pageot’s Perspective: I was excited about the tag league going in but I’ve felt pretty flat about it ever since. Partly it came way too quickly on the heels of the Grand Prix. A couple months in between of regular matches would have been a better palate cleanser than going straight from one tournament into the next. Also there are no particular stories at play in this tournament other than the Priestley-Hayter cross-faction partnership, which I doubt is leading anywhere anyway. Everyone’s promos are just the same thing every time and the match quality has hardly been stand-out.)

-Tora & Hazuki also phoned in their promo saying the same thing they do every time. Hayter was upset about having to wrestle her friends. Priestley said sometimes you have to do things you hate to avoid loneliness.

(6) TOP GAIJINS (World Of Stardom Champion Bea Priestley & Jamie Hayter) vs. OEDO TAI (Hazuki & Natsuko Tora) – RED GODDESSES BLOCK

Hayter with a falcon arrow backbreaker to Tora for the pin.

WINNERS: Top Gaijins in 12:26.

(Pageot’s Perspective: That takes the gaijins to 8 points and gives them the block. Hazuki & Tora, Watanabe & AZM, and Iwatani & Kashima can’t reach 8 at this point. Riho & Kid and Kyona & Konami could at best tie Priestley & Hayter but they’ve both already lost to them in the tournament so it’s a moot point. The Top Gaijins are your red block finalists.)

-Kid said, if they can beat the tag champions here, it would be big for their confidence. (And earn them a title shot regardless of them failing to win the tournament.) Kyona sang Queen’s “We Are The Champions” while Konami giggled.

(7) GODDESS OF STARDOM CHAMPIONS TOKYO CYBER SQUAD (Jungle Kyona & Konami) vs. HIGH SPEED CHAMPION & AEW WOMEN’S CHAMPION RIHO & STARLIGHT KID – RED GODDESSES BLOCK

Riho hit a top rope double-stomp to Kyona but she kicked out at two. Riho with a roll-up but Kyona kicked out again. She followed with a running set of double knees. Konami broke up the pin at two and a half but the bell rang. There was some confusion as all the women lay on the mat recovering. Eventually it was announced as a time limit draw.

DECISION: Time limit draw in 15:00.

-Kid said the result was disappointing. She’d still like to get the win in their final tag league match at Korakuen Hall. Iwatani came out. She announced she’ll be challenging Priestley for the red belt in Korakuen on November 4. She vowed to win back her belt. Hoshiki took the mic next. She said she would defend her white belt on that show too, slowly working her way toward the record for most defenses. (No word on who her opponent will be.)

(Pageot’s Perspective: Riho & Kid should earn a title shot regardless as a result of taking the champions to a draw. Riho remains unpinned in Stardom. Will Iwatani take the title back and become the top champion in Stardom again under the new ownership and heading into New Japan’s most important time of year? It seems very possible. They didn’t go with Kimura and there’s no sign that Watanabe is anywhere in contention. Based on current projections a main event picture of Iwatani, Riho, and Hayashishita for the next six months seems plausible, if disappointing.)

Red Goddesses standings after show 5:
Top Gaijins (Bea Priestley & Jamie Hayter) – 8
<del>Riho & Starlight Kid – 5</del>
<del>Tokyo Cyber Squad (Jungle Kyona & Konami) – 3</del>
<del>Stars (Mayu Iwatani & Saki Kashima) – 2</del>
<del>Oedo Tai (Hazuki & Natsuko Tora) – 0</del>
<del>Queen’s Quest (Momo Watanabe & AZM) – 0</del>

Blue Goddesses standings after show 5:
DREAM*SHiNE (Arisa Hoshiki & Tam Nakano) – 4
Tokyo Death Squad (Hana Kimura & Death Yama-San) – 4
The Drunk Queens (Natsu Sumire & Session Moth Martina) – 2
Oedo Tai (Kagetsu & Andras Miyagi) – 2
<del>Tokyo Cyber Squad (Bobbi Tyler & Zoe Lucas) – 2</del>
3838 Tag (Saya Iida & Saya Kamitani) – 0

THANK YOU FOR VISITING

STARDOM GODDESSES OF STARDOM OCTOBER 27, 2019 TOKYO, JAPAN AT SHIN-KIBA 1ST RING AIRED ON STARDOM WORLD REPORT BY HARLEY R.
