WWE Raw house show report
October 16, 2007
London, England at Wembley Arena
By Russ "Pez Whatley" Besta of Berkshire, England, PWTorch VIP member
Here's a run down of the results from Raw at Wembley Arena on Tuesday 16th October.
(1) William Regal beat Carlito. The crowd was really behind Regal, the match was a bit sloppy but a fun opener.
(2) Snitsky beat Super Crazy. Snitsky dominated for most of the match with a brief a minute and a half of offense from Super Crazy. Snitsky used a pump handle slam for the win
(3) Cade & Murdoch beat Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly. Some good comedy moments from Cade & Murdoch during the match, Rhodes missed with an aerial move from the top rope to gift C&M the win. At the end of the match Hardcore looked angry at Rhodes for costing them the match but reconciled a minute later.
(4) Mr Kennedy beat Val Venis. Kennedy cut a funny promo on Howard Finkel followed by one the dental Hygiene of the English, he refused to finish the final part of his catch phrase "Kennedy" stating the English fans "Don't get anything" from him. Solid match, Kennedy hit his finisher from the second rope, he got a huge pop, then finished his catchphrase from the start of the match. Side note - Val Venis seemed to be limping before the match started
(5) Harry Smith beat Santino Marella. Harry Smith came out to The British Bulldog's entrance music and then dedicated the match to Davey Boy Smith. Boring match, Marella thought he'd won after resting his foot on the ropes for a pin, however the ref spotted it and Harry Smith used a running powerslam to get the pin. After the match Hacksaw Jim Duggan came out with US & British flags and got a decent sized pop. He got the crowd chanting "Eng-land" and his usual "Hoooooaaah" before passing the mic to Harry and getting him to make the crowd chant along with him. Personally I saw this as a lame attempt to get him over with the English fans due the fact his Dad was born over here. Harry is as English as the British Tennis player Greg Rusedski.

(6) Beth Phoenix beat Candice Michelle. Probably the best WWE woman's match I've seen in a while, some good spots by both performers.
(7) Triple H beat Umaga in a street fight. A massive reaction for Triple H, to use a Monsoonism the crowd went bananas. Umaga battered Hunter for most of the match with some offense from Hunter using weapons such as the Fink's mic and a trash can. The match ended when Triple H nailed Umaga with the sledgehammer and hit the pedigree. Hunter milked the audience and posed for what seemed like most of the show, after finding I was probably the only person who couldn't stand him I decided to leave the Triple H love fest and get a beer.
(8) Randy Orton beat Jeff Hardy. Okay match. The crowd got behind Jeff (who looked pretty banged up before the match started) and clapped along with him after his every move. Orton attempted an RKO, Hardy reversed it and attempted a Twist of Fate, Orton reversed that and got the RKO on his second attempt.
Overall: It had a better atmosphere than the Smackdown taping from Earls Court London in April. Fun, worth the face value of the ticket not the £100 I paid on Ebay.
QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults07" (@pwtorch. com).
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the "&" symbol as opposed to stating "and. " Reserve use of " and" when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. " Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match" ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
