1/11 TNA in Dallas, Tex. (3rd report): President Dixie Carter chats with fans, Booker expresses gratitude Jan 13, 2008 - 8:27:24 PM
TNA house show report
January 11, 2008
Dallas, Texas
Report by Brandon Leigh, PWTorch.com reader
The place was sold out, and I am not going to try to guess how many people because I am horrible at it. I was sitting just ten feet from the ring in the first row. Dixie Carter came by and spoke to a lot of people, and she was extremely friendly. D-Lo was there and he was nice, too. Sign Guy was sitting just a few seats from me. J.B. did the ring announcing, and Earl Hebner, and rudy charles did all of the ref duties.
(1) Motor City Machine Guns vs. Elix Skipper & Kaz. This was a great match to start the night with. Very high energy, got the crowd pumped, and really was total non-stop action! A great match.
(2) Jackie Moore vs. Awesome Kong. This was a just a so so match. I needed a break from the first match anyway.
(3) X-Division Title Match: Johnny Devine vs. Jay Lethal. This was a great match. Good story telling, and they had crowd the whole time. Lethal won with the flying elbow, and was given his title back. but while celebrating, Devine snuck up from behind and grabbed the belt from him and ran backstage. Lethal followed.
(4) Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe. This was the best match of the night in my opinion. These guys have great chemistry, and Christian pulled off being a face very well, and the crowd reacted to that great. Christian pinned him, and afterwards extended his hand, and joe gave him the finger.
There was a 20 minute intermission, and christian signed autographs in the lobby.
(5) James Storm vs. Eric Young. This was just a comical match, with a lot of talking. playing to the crowd, and just not very serious at all.
(6) Lance Hoyt and Jimmy Rave vs. LAX. Hoyt came out and got on the mic because he's from Dallas, and got started in the Local PCW promotion we have. He played to crowd, and told everyone how TNA has been great to him. How he finally bought his house, and then said that the best thing was that he bought in Orlando, and everyone went from cheering to booing. His rant went on and on, and I was sitting right behind D-Lo, and Borash, and they were getting irritated that he stayed on the mic so long, it appeared to me. When LAX came out the crowd was really into it. LAX shined like they always do, and Hernandez did a suicide dive over the top rope that was amazing in person. It was a really good back and forth match with LAX winning.
(7) Robert Roode vs. Booker T. This match was only ten minutes long, and I wanted more. The match was a little disappointing for a main event in my opinion. I think these guys could have a great match. It wasn't bad, though. Rudy Charles got hit accidentally in the match. So Roode went and got a chair and just as he was a bout to hit Booker, Ms. Brooks came out and grabbed it from him. Booker then hit him the scissor kick and it was over.
Booker stayed in the ring and said how grateful he was to all the fans. After that almost all of the wrestlers came out and signed autographs, took pictures, and talked to people. I spoke to Dixie again afterwards and she said that this was a great night for TNA. During the night Borash would pump up the crowd and said that want to bring a PPV and maybe impact to Dallas in the future. I told Dixie and Borash that they should bring a PPV here and they said that they are hopeful that it will happen this year. Overall, it was a great show.
