WWE Raw brand house show report
September 19, 2009
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Report by Steve R., Torch reader

This is a 10,000-seat arena that was 90 percent full. Evan Bourne got the crowd pumped to open the show vs. Chavo Guerrero.

(1) Evan Bourne beat Chavo Guerrero. Suprising heat for Chavo. Typical back and forth until Hornswoggle came out from under the ring and got the assist, distracting the ref while Bourne set up and hit the Shooting Star Press and pin. Bourne celebrated with Hornswoggle.

(2) Primo beat Some nameless wrestler announced from Virginia who came down to no reaction until he got the mic and insulted Canada for some cheap heat. The crowd was dead for this one. Primo got the win.

(3) Chris Masters beat Santino Marella. Huge pop for Santino. Santino showed Masters his guns and then got the mic and promised to punch him in the face. He got a few good shots in and there was some good comedy. Santino even got his own version of the Masterlock in. However, Masters got the win with the original Masterlock. Santino got the mic after and promised us he would be ok.

(4) U.S. champion Kofi Kingston beat The Miz and Jack Swagger in a triple threat match. Miz came out first with the title, which he stole on Raw. (Storyline continuity at its best.) Huge heat for the Miz, who cut a cool promo. Typical triple threat rules with lots of broken up pinfalls and one wrestler getting knocked out of the ring for an extended period of time. Kofi pinned Swagger with Trouble in Paradise while Miz ran off with the belt with Kofi in hot pursuit. Good match with a hot crowd.

(5) MVP & Mark Henry beat Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Jr). Lots of cheers for the faces and big time heat for Legacy. Your usual tag action and an on-fire MVP. The crowd ate up everything he did. Legacy got the win in a close one.

(6) WWE champion John Cena beat Randy Orton. Randy Orton challenged for Cena's title. Pro Cena crowd and nothing special in the match. Randy missed a punt and escaped a couple of FU attempts. Randy tapped out to the STFU while the ref was knocked out. Cena finally won with a big FU.

After the match, Legacy jumped Cena and MVP/Henry made the save. A funny moment occurred with the faces in the ring, DiBiase trapped, and Rhodes outside. Randy was long gone. DiBiase got hit with three finishing moves and finally Rhodes pulled him to safety. Cena then announced he got a special request and called down a Canadian soldier from the crowd. He proposed to his fiance, who came to the ring and said yes. Cena was thrilled to do this. There were high fives all-around with the babyfaces and the crowd went home happy.

Biggest pops:
(1) John Cena
(2) MVP
(3) Santino

Biggest heat:
(1) Randy Orton
(2) Legacy
(3) The Miz
