WWE Raw brand house show
January 8, 2010
Boston, Mass.
Report by Christopher Bustamante, Torch reader

(1) MVP beat Jack Swagger. The crowd was into this match the entire time. Great opener with MVP winning using the Playmaker.

Eve asked a family where WrestleMania will be held this year; they answered correctly and were moved to the front row the entire night.

(2) Evan Bourne beat Johnny Curtis. Curtis grabbed the mic and began to cut a promo about being a huge Yankees fan. Big heat from the crowd. Bourne picks up the win following Air Bourne. Post-match: Bourne was attacked by Cody Rhodes near the entrance way and Primo ran out to chase him into the ring for the next match.

(3) Cody Rhodes beat Primo. Okay match. Rhodes won using the Cross Rhodes on Primo picking up the win.

(4) Gail Kim & The Bella Twins beat Maryse & Alicia Fox & Jillian Hall in a Six-Diva tag match with Santino Marella as the special guest referee. Santino was very funny with the crowd and did some comedy with the divas. The match ended with Gail Kim hitting Jillian with some move (I assume her finisher; she never wrestles on TV, so I don't know the name) to win
it for her team.

(5) Chris Masters beat Carlito via submission. Carlito said that he actually likes Boston and this arena. It was because that's where he beat John Cena to become the U.S. champion. Slow match here. Masters wins with the Masterlock.

(6) U.S. champion The Miz beat Kofi Kingston to retain the U.S. Title. The Miz talked about Kofi Kingston asking Timbaland for a U.S. title shot on Raw a few weeks ago and he's still the champion. He said Kofi got another shot tonight and started taunting Kofi's mother, who was seated in the crowd. The Miz retained after hitting the Skullcrushing Finale. Great match, great energy from the crowd. Kofi and Miz should have a feud on Raw.

(7) WWE champion Sheamus beat Mark Henry to retain the WWE Title. I was very disappointed that Shawn Michaels wasn't getting this match when it was advertised. Instead, we get Mark Henry. Slow match that didn't go anywhere or pick up the pace. Sheamus won by kicking Henry in the face.

(8) Unified tag champions DX (Shawn Michaels & Triple H) beat Big Show & Randy Orton to retain the Unified tag titles. DX came outto a very big pop from the crowd. They did usual mic work including some fat jokes about the Big Show and how he and Jericho just broke up. Big Show came out and said he and Jericho had a bond, but he still got a partner for the night, Randy Orton. Pop for Randy Orton but all boos for Big Show. Shawn Michaels hitting Sweet Chin Music on Big Show that was followed up by an assisted Pedigree from Triple H. DX retains the tag titles.

Overall: Fun show, but I would have rather seen the advertised matches (Triple H vs. Big Show, Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston, and Sheamus vs. Shawn Michaels).

Biggest Pops
DX
Kofi Kingston
Evan Bourne
Randy Orton

Biggest Heat
Sheamus
Big Show
Miz
