WWE Live Results
October 17, 2014
Montreal, Canada
Report by Christian Ouellette, PWTorch reader

There were a lot of empty seats; I would say around 4,000 people or so. The crowd was hot, though. There was lots of merchandise available. Almost all current Superstars had t-shirts for sale.

(1) R-Truth beat The Miz following a miscue from Damien Sandow. Fun opener with lots of interference by Sandow. Following the match, Sandow took the mic and said that he and Miz are not leaving Montreal as losers. Out came Great Khali...

(2) Great Khali beat Damien Sandow in short order with a brain chop.

(3) NXT champion Adrian Neville beat Sami Zayn in his home area to retain the NXT Title. Awesome back and forth match between both NXT competitors. Neville got the pin following Red Arrow. Match of the Night by far. Zayn addressed the local Montreal fanbase and hyped the Montreal Canadiens hockey team. Zayn was over.

(4) Natalya & Naomi beat Cameron & Layla when Natalya made Layla tap out via Sharpshooter. Good, but not great encounter. Naomi deserves better.

(5) WWE tag champs Goldust & "Stardust" Cody Rhodes beat The Usos to retain the Tag Titles. Stardust pinned Jey Uso with Dark Matter. Okay match, but nothing we have not seen on TV with these teams.

(Intermission]

(6) Adam Rose beat Justin Gabriel with the Party Foul. Gabriel cut a promo before his match and talked more in two minutes than his entire WWE career altogether.

(7) Mark Henry beat Rusev via DQ after getting hit with a steel chair. After the bout, Henry gained the advantage over Rusev with a bearhug slam. Like the Dusts-Usos match, nothing we haven't seen between those two.

During the show, ring announcer Eden Stiles asked the crowd to vote on Twitter for the main event of the night. The choices were either Dean Ambrose vs. Kane & Randy Orton in a Street Fight or Ambrose & Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane & Orton in a Street Fight. Naturally...

(8) Dean Ambrose & IC champion Dolph Ziggler beat Kane & Randy Orton following Ambrose's double-arm DDT on Kane. Loud pop for Ambrose, Ziggler, and even Randy Orton. Good match dominated mostly by The Authority. Not too many weapons used by both teams with the exception of chairs and Singapore Canes.

After the contest, Kane and Orton attacked both Ambrose and Ziggler. The Usos saved them, but got attacked by Goldust and Stardust. The heels had the advantage, but got fended off by Zayn, Neville, and Truth. Sami Zayn hit a dive on all the heels to end it. The faces then celebrated in the ring with Sami Zayn's theme playing in the background.

All in all, nothing too special here, but a fun show nonetheless. The crowd was mostly into the show the whole night. No return date was announced, but I'm pretty certain they'll be back sooner rather than later.

BIGGEST POPS: Ambrose, Zayn, Orton.

BIGGEST HEAT: Lana/Rusev, Miz, Sandow.
