ETC. News: Nick Hogan drug test results pending - international media keeping eye on story Oct 19, 2007 - 6:18:24 PM
Nick Hogan (Bollea) is awaiting results of a drug and alcohol test, which could greatly affect his how the legal system in Florida handles his high-speed car crash that left his friend, John Graziano, comatose and likely facing lifelong nursing home care.
TMZ is cited as reporting that local officials will wrap up the case by November. The decision of whether to press criminal charges rests on the blood test results. So, likely, does the Graziano family's plans to file a civil suit to help pay for medical costs for decades to come.
GlossLip.com's take on the situation is as follows:
basically, Nick was racing another vehicle on wet city streets and was ignoring things like traffic lights and signs, and because of these bad decisions another man’s life will never be the same.
But the thing that jumped out at me was that the damage to the Supra was $50,000. That is more than many people’s homes, and this seventeen-year-old kid is racing it on city streets. And while showing ”no overt signs of impairment” at the scene of the crash, the police gave him a drug and alcohol test anyway. Good for them…even if he wasn’t showing any signs, it is a good precaution.
I wonder if Nick will beat this rap, just like he did when the police officers let him go…after being caught three times in the space of just minutes, only the last police officer had cojones big enough to ticket him. Let’s see if daddy’s money can buy him out of this one.
