By Chris Vetter

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

The big indy shows this weekend are in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, for its “all star weekend.” The lineups are below, and both shows feature top-notch talent, highlighted by the return of the Dragon Gate stars from Japan: CIMA, Yoshino and Doi. U.S. standout indy wrestlers on the shows include Bryan Danielson, El Generico, Human Tornado, Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero. Visit www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com to learn more.

Sandman heads to EWF in Marion, Ind., on Saturday.

Lethal Wrestling Alliance features Austin Aries on Saturday. Details are below.

In other news…

Congratulations to Wisconsin standout Silas Young for signing a WWE developmental deal. I’ve consistently praised Silas’ in-ring skills for years. He has worked a handful of TV matches this year for WWE, has worked TNA matches in the past when TNA was based in Nashville, and he broke into ROH this year. While he has a great look & physique, at about 5’10”, he has a challenge still of getting noticed in front of him. Nonetheless, he deserves this opportunity.

Shaun “Khosrow” Daivari will team with his younger brother, Arya Daivari, in F1rst Wrestling in Minneapolis on Jan. 25. That is shaping up to be the best-looking indy show in the Twin Cities in six months! If you live in the Twin Cities, plan to attend this show, at the First Avenue night club, across from the Target Center.

On Dec. 31, Jimmy Snuka & Tony Atlas teamed up to win a tag match in National Wrestling Superstars, in Danielson, Conn. Results are below.

The next Shimmer taping is on April 26th, and front-row tickets are already SOLD OUT. Learn more about this exciting all-women’s promotion at www.shimmerwrestling.com.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
