Torch Indy Weekend Report: Low Ki retains in PWG, Spike Dudley, Rikishi, Sylvain, Chikara returns
Jan 29, 2008 - 5:43:44 PM

By Chris Vetter

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

ROH results are up elsewhere, so I’ll skip them for now.

In Pro Wrestling Guerrilla on Sunday, Low Ki retained the PWG title by defeating El Generico. In a surprising development, Davey Richards missed the show (even though other wrestlers at the ROH show Saturday night made it to PWG. Richards has been ‘fired’ from PWG and stripped of the tag titles. No, I don’t know if he is legit gone from the promotion.

I attended a good, but not great, F1rst Wrestling show in the Twin Cities on Friday. Ken Kennedy was in the crowd, watching the action. Khosrow Daivari teamed with his brother, Arya, to defeat the North Star Express, and ODB defeated Ann Brookstone. Results are below.

Chikara Pro held its first show of the year on Sunday. In the main event, Claudio Castagnoli’s team defeated a squad led by Mike Quackenbush in a six-man war. Results are below.

I have a whole bunch of indy results below, with former WCW/WWE/ECW wrestlers ranging from Rikishi, Justin Credible to Spike Dudley and Sylvain Grenier in action. Check out the results section!

In other news…

IWA Mid-South has updated the lineup for its first show of the year, on March 1, and it is really starting to look good! Davey Richards will face hardcore maniac Toby Klein, and BLK OUT (Sabian & Joker) will face the Iron Saints. IWA-MS also has announced the King of the Death Match tournament will be June 20 & 21 in Plainfield, Ind., with a “Queen of the Death Matches” tournament on the afternoon of June 21.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
