The Shoot radio show has sent the following summary of an interview this week with Brutus Beefcake...

Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake called into to The Shoot radio show on October 16th to promote the Celebrity Championship Wrestling TV show starring Hulk Hogan. He is welcomed to the show by hosts Gary Cantrell and Alan Martin.

He asked how he enjoys family life, he said "absolutely," he said he's been on the road for 33 years doing countless movies and TV series and not to mention wrestling. "The limelight is something I've definitely been in all my life and It's something I enjoy but I also enjoy the time I spend with my family."

He says hes not over the road because he's never off of it, traveling all over the country including Canada, Europe, and that he enjoys tagging up with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. When asked if he's enjoying now more than ever he said "Now there's no pressure, there's no Vince McMahon staring over my shoulder, there's nobody telling me what to do, I'm the boss, I go out there I do exactly what I want, when I want to who ever I want."

Gary asks him about the famous Barbershop incident where Shawn Michaels throws Marty Jannety through the window. "It was definitely exciting for the people watching out there, It didn't really turn out so good for Marty Jannety, I mean his career never really took off It took a dive from there. Shawn Michaels went on to you know on and upwards as the Heartbreak Kid and get a heck of a push."

Alan jumps in and asks Brutus who were some of his favorite guys to mix it up with in the ring and Brutus said "Well unfortunately half of them are not with us anymore. Junkyard Dog, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, those are 3 top guys that I had unbelievable matches with." He goes on to also say Rick Martel, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine, and Hulk Hogan.

The conversation moves forward to talking about Celebrity Championship Wrestling. Brutus is asked about what makes this show connect with wrestling fans, he says "Well, because there's Wrestling in Wrestling." He goes on to say that the celebrities were thrown "into a frying pan and cooked up," didn't know what they were getting into but really stepped it up. "When people see the finished product, I think they are going to be shocked with the amount of things these people learned in a short amount of time."

Brutus was asked which celebrities surprised him or really impressed him and he said that he thought they all did great and that none of them were real difficult to work with. He said there will be 8 episodes and that it only took four weeks to shoot.

For more including who he enjoyed working for more WWE or WCW, his thoughts on the current product of wrestling, who he liked tagging more with Greg Valentine or Hulk Hogan, Bischoff's new promotion, and a whole lot more in this 20 minute interview, Point your browser to:
