Former Minnesota governor and wrestling star Jesse Ventura says the two-party U.S. government reminds him of the Nazi Germany system. He denounced the current government's philosophy of creating fear, then acting upon the fear created.

"All you have to do is convince them (citizens) they're under attack, denounce the pacifists for being unpatriotic, and then denounce the country for putting them in a dangerous position," Ventura told journalist Chris Yandek. "I find it very disturbing when my country is following the philosophy of Nazis."

He pointed to a recent Texas governor race where only 26 percent of citizens voted in the race. "We're supposed to be this country going throughout the world and like Iraq giving them democracy at the point of gun," he said.

Ventura also said he's thinking about running for President in 2012. "I just always leave the opening there because I am not a soothsayer," he said. "I cannot predict the future. Therefore I really don't know what my mindset will be or what the situation will be four years from now, but I've learned in my 57 years on the planet that you never shut the door to anything."

Caldwell's Analysis: The main reason for only 26 percent of Texans voting in the last governor's race in 2006 was due to a number of "independent" candidates from outside of the two parties making a farce of the race. 74 percent of potential voters saw a complete joke of a debate that aired on local TV, involving independent candidate Kinky Friedman, and decided to stay home. A two-party system is not ideal, as Ventura points out in his interview, but opening the door to creating a farcical race is a risk that would cause 74 percent of registered voters in the second-largest state in the country to sit at home.
