Former WWE star Bret Hart was interviewed by Christopher Smith of The Mirror last week and PWTorch.com was granted exclusive access to the third part of Hart's interview. Following are highlights from the ten-minute Video interview, which is available on The Mirror blog.

On other people's view of his career: "I think I was always underestimated by people. I had to work so hard to get to the top. People who followed me in my career appreciated the struggle."

On writing his book after the WWE DVD release: "I wrote my book thinking most people would never see most of the body my work, as far as my matches go. Most of those would be locked away and only people who had it on video cassette would see it, but my career would be shelved and in boxes somewhere in a warehouse in Connecticut. I would fade from memory and people wouldn't be talking about Bret Hart."

On Vince McMahon owning wrestling history: "They (WWE) sell you whatever they want. Vince McMahon can tell you this guy or this guy was the greatest wrestler and can minimize any impact that I had on my profession. I always feared that was going to happen. I wanted to write my book - and I realized I wrote it not just for myself or my fans, but for other wrestlers as well."

On the total picture of his career: "I stand by my body of work. I think it's hard to find a lot of bad Bret Hart matches. Even when I watched the Stampede matches on my DVD, I remember thinking 'How white I am or how skinny I am.' I'd been in the business seven months when that happened. I'd just pulled on a pair of boots and started wrestling and I thought, 'I was pretty damn good actually for a skinny kid back then.'"

On Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair: "When you watch someone like Hulk Hogan, they can't even show their old matches because they were so terrible. Or Ric Flair. You wouldn't dream of showing any of their very early matches. A lot of wrestlers wouldn't dream of showing their very first matches, but I got it, I was pretty good right off the bat."

On second-generation wrestlers having an advantage: "I think there are so many second or third generation wrestlers who 'get it,' because they grow up with it up-close. You grow up with it and you know it."
