-- Former WWE wrestler Bryan Danielson continues his independent tour this weekend with two big matches for the EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA promotions.
Gabe Sapolsky's EVOLVE promotion will have their fourth show tonight with the main attraction of Danielson vs. Bobby Fish. The show takes place at the ACE Arena in Union City, N.J.
EVOLVE was originally designed to be built around Danielson before he signed a WWE developmental contract. Danielson now returns to the promotion to face Fish, who is 0-3 in EVOLVE.
The semi-main event match is a battle of undefeated wrestlers. Jimmy Jacobs (3-0) will face Chuck Taylor (2-0) in a singles match. Also on the card will be Johnny Gargano, Jon Moxley, and Japanese wrestler Akira Tozawa making his EVOLVE debut.
DGUSA will be taping the show for PPV, but Danielson's match will not be part of the PPV. Danielson will be facing Shingo in a battle of top singles stars from the U.S. and Japan.
The top matches on the actual PPV taping will be DGUSA champion BxB Hulk vs. Masaaki Mochizuki in a DGUSA Title match and Team CHIKARA vs. Team Kamikaze USA in an eight-man tag match.
DGUSA announced this week that Dragon Kid has been scratched from the line-up due to injury. Kid's opponent, Naruki Doi, has an "open contract" for the show on Saturday.
