Retired former WWE wrestler Shawn Michaels addressed the death of Lance Cade today. Cade was one of Michaels's students at the Texas Wrestling Academy (TWA) in the late 1990s/early 2000s.

"5 min (after) my morning tweet I got the call about Lance. No words will b good enuff. 1 of my boys is gone," Michaels said on Twitter. "My prayers & thoughts have already been given 2 his family & will continue. Goodbye Lance I Love You."

Considering Cade was 29-years-old at the time of his death, many wrestlers have commented on Twitter about the history of early wrestler deaths in the industry.

"RIP my friend LANCE CADE..lord help change this industry that we work so hard for... love to everyone," said TNA wrestler Orlando Jordan.

Fellow TNA wrestler Matt Morgan commented: "Very sad to hear loss of Lance Cade! Great young performer,lance trained in OVW with a lot us and had limitless potential! Our condolences to Lance's family. He had two beautiful daughters. RIP buddy. I hate that this keeps happening."

Former WWE wrestler Chuck Palumbo said, "Just found out Lance Cade died today...another wrestler under 40 years old..my prayers go out to his family."
