TNA News: Clearing up reports on TNA negotiations with former WWE names (w/Keller Analysis) Oct 19, 2007 - 4:26:28 PM
There are rumors (based on a flawed email we and others received) that TNA's mobile alert lists the following wrestlers as being "in negotiation" with TNA: Scott Hall, Brian Christopher, Scotty 2 Hotty. In actuality, the TNA Mobile alert said the following:
Tuesday – 11:00AM PST
Hall & Nash teamed up last wknd at a non-TNA event last week in Ok; Judas Messias suffered a serious injury in Mexico, will be out indefinitely
Wednesday – 11:00AM PST
Will Fatu’s former partners Brian Christopher & Scotty Taylor join him in TNA? Our sources wouldn’t confirm or deny. Fight for the Right Tourney starts Thursday

On other fronts, there is a lot of speculation about if and when Booker T and Rob Van Dam join TNA officially. Too Cold Scorpio, after being released by WWE several weeks back after never making it to TV, is back in talks with TNA.
Former MNM member Joey Mercury debuted in a tag team with Johnny Perisis (a/k/a Johnny Swinger) in a dark match at Bound for Glory.
WK ANALYSIS: Booker T and RVD would be a great fit with TNA. I get asked about both a lot, either via email or in the VIP Forum, and unlike some other WWE castoffs, Booker and RVD have a lot to offer TNA. Joey Mercury does, too. He's talented and has some name value. After what he went through in WWE, having his face crushed and being put right back on TV with a face mask - all shortly after being through drug rehab, he deserves a job as much as anyone - and a chance to testify on Capital Hill about the ups and downs of being a wrestler. I'm not sure about the value Scotty 2 Hotty, Brian Christopher, or Scott Hall would have. Hotty and Christopher are fringe names and talents, and there's just too many underutilized more talented, younger wrestlers currently on the roster. As for Hall, he's unpredictable and has such a spotty record, but he's so charismatic and has such name value that if he's in a position to be reliable, even for a short-term program leading to one PPV - if done right - it could be worth it. Having Nash to check in on him and keep him on time and on course is key.
