TNA wrestler Matt Morgan says he's been groomed for the main event slot on TNA PPVs and he believes he's destined to reach that point. He says the plan all along has been for him to work his way up through the mid-card before arriving on the main event scene.

Morgan is involved in a program against A.J. Styles on Impact to determine the third slot in the TNA World Title match at the Hard Justice PPV. Morgan will wrestle Styles again on tonight's show after being booked to lose on last week's show.

"When I beat A.J. Styles, I think I've been groomed to be a headliner for a TNA Pay-Per-View. I've been groomed from the ground, even back in my WWE days," Morgan said on the Monday Night Mayhem radio show earlier this week. "This is exactly what the plan was (in TNA). I just to step up the challenge and show them I'm worthy of being a main-event headliner one day."

Morgan might think he's destined to stay at the main event level in TNA, but he was asked where he has concerns over job security considering more wrestlers have been coming to TNA, such as Taz and Bobby Lashley. Morgan said he's not concerned at all.

"I haven't noticed anything, but then again I'm also not going around asking guys 'Hey you guys worried about your job?' I can just speak from my perspective," he said. "I know from what my plans are, and the plans are for me at TNA are to continue to keep doing what they've been doing with me to slowly keep grooming me and to help them make money one day."

Morgan compared his perceived job security in TNA to WWE where he says big men other than The Undertaker and Kane don't have job security. He says a big man is destined to be fed to main eventers for a while, then sent packing.

"For the newer guys, there's no one there that has been there longer than three years anymore," Morgan said. "They recycle them in and out, feed them to the top guys they need to feed them to, and then they're gone. That's not a comfortable environment for a newer, younger big guy to work in."

Morgan added that he's trying to incorporate new moves into his arsenal to go along with the moves he's seemingly taken from other big men. He said if he would have tried any new moves when he was in WWE, he would have been yelled at for not sticking to the big man template.

"The top-rope leg lariat, where I flip over the top rope and land on my feet, that's something I started doing in Japan. I would have never had the courage to try that in the WWE, because you're always worried about getting screamed at or fired for trying to do something different," Morgan said. "I don't think the WWE is into having their bigger guys do anything different."
