TNA World Hvt. champion Kurt Angle's attorney, Michael Santicola, is claiming that Angle is innocent of all allegations against him after Angle was arrested on multiple charges on Saturday morning.

However, Santicola and Angle are not consistent in their separate accounts of a physical altercation between Angle and ex-girlfriend Rhaka Khan that allegedly took place on Friday night.

According to the police report from Angle's arrest on Saturday morning, Angle told police "his ex-girlfriend and he had an altercation at his residence in Moon Township last evening (Friday)." Khan told police she was "in fear" of Angle after the alleged altercation.

Angle's attorney told WPXI in Pittsburgh on Sunday: "There was no physical threat. There was no physical violence," which contradicts what Angle told police.

Santicola is trying to build a case against Rhaka Khan by saying the restraining order she requested from the police was bogus. In a TV interview, Santicola repeatedly talked down about Khan to discredit the validity of her claim.

Since the restraining order is what led to Angle's arrest, Santicola is trying to establish a defense for Angle that a restraining order never should have been granted and Angle should not have found himself in legal trouble.

However, it appears the restraining order had merit if there was a physical altercation, which Angle confirmed to police, according to police records. If the restraining order is proved to have merit, it would shoot down Santicola's defense that Angle never should have been arrested.

Caldwell's Analysis: A judge will ultimately decide whether the restraining order was merited, but there are already major holes in Santicola's defense of Angle. Angle told police there was an altercation. Santicola said there was no such thing. Their stories don't match and that could play a role in a judge's decision during court hearings scheduled for this week.
