TNA wrestler Mick Foley says Kevin Nash and he achieved their goal of rising above low expectations at the Hard Justice PPV. He says many people weren't expecting much from them, but he's received positive feedback on the match.

"I know there were a lot of fans who weren't expecting too much in the 'Battle of the Barely Mobile,' but our goal was always to surprise some of those fans," Foley said on his MySpace blog. "That type of match might not be for everyone, but it seemed to be a hit with quite a few of the people I talked with."

Torch readers voted Foley vs. Nash as the second-best match of the PPV. The match received 25 percent of the vote in our Hard Justice PPV poll compared to 37 percent for the X Division Asylum match that opened the event.

Foley says he's "doing okay" after opening up a nasty gash around his eye in the middle of the match that led to plenty of blood loss.

"I'm sorry if any of you thought I was pushing my eyeball back into its socket. I'm doing okay - a few stitcheroonies, but still okay," he said.

Foley also talked about his Improv appearance on Saturday night in Hollywood. He said he hopes some of the WWE wrestlers stop by to watch his show before Summerslam on Sunday. Read More about Foley's Improv appearance.

Caldwell's Analysis: Both men put together a nice game plan ahead of time to lower expectations to the ground so they merely had to take a step over the bar to have a match people would enjoy. Without the pre-match lowering of expectations, the match was still a memorable bout - mainly because of the blood - and told a compelling story with Nash unrelenting in his attack on Foley before Foley made the big comeback at the end. They told a good story to distract from their lack of mobility in the ring. But, it shows where TNA is right now. It's looked at as a moral victory that the promotion's semi-main event is being praised because it didn't suck. With the level of talent they have on the roster, TNA should hold themselves to a higher standard.
