TNA founder/wrestler Jeff Jarrett said in a radio interview yesterday that Kurt Angle is one of the "best ever" wrestlers in the history of the business. Jarrett talked glowingly of Angle during the interview in Australia, which was booked to help promote TNA's house show tour in 2010.

"I don't think Kurt Angle has a peer in this business," Jarrett said on the All Night Appetite show on SEN sports radio channel. "From bell to bell, he may be the best this business has ever produced."

Jarrett presented himself as a likeable Southern babyface in the interview promoting the TNA brand. He set up his comments on Angle by listing other top wrestlers he's worked with in his career to say Angle is the best out of all them.

Asked about the top wrestlers he's worked with in his career, Jarrett listed Jerry Lawler from his early days in Memphis, Tenryu from Japan, Shawn Michaels and Scott Hall in WWF, Sid Vicious and Goldberg in WCW, and Jeff Hardy and Monty Brown in the early days of TNA before working with Angle.

Jarrett is expected to be back on TV "sooner rather than later" and will have to work with Angle once again after Angle reportedly told TNA president Dixie Carter that TNA isn't big enough for the both of them. Jarrett stroking Angle's ego in a sports interview can be viewed as Jarrett playing political games to soften the relationship before Jarrett returns to the work environment.

Jarrett also talked about the future stars in TNA. He specifically listed Jay Lethal and Brutus Magnus as having the "it" factor he's looking for. Jarrett said TNA is taking its time building up the likes of Lethal and Magnus because they're "so young, but with a lot of raw talent."

Jarrett was also asked what he would add or change to the TNA product. Jarrett repeated his line - with different wording - from earlier this year that he just doesn't want TNA to be boring.

"Wrestling is subjective. Quality of the program is in the eye of the beholder," Jarrett said. "One thing I don't ever want TNA to do is rest on its laurels or be complacent."

TNA Knockout Christy Hemme was also on the talk show. She talked about the WWE Diva Search and learning from her personal bad performances to grow as a wrestler. Audio of the interview is below.
