TNA wrestler Bobby Lashley said in a full-length interview with USA Today that he's concerned about TNA "holding up their end of the bargain" in supporting his MMA fight career less than two weeks before his first fight for the Strikeforce promotion.

"The main deal is that TNA had always told me they were willing to work with anything that I had to do with fighting," Lashley told Sergio Non. "This is their first opportunity to show they're really going to work with me. That's all I really can say about that."

Lashley said his main concern is that perhaps TNA officials don't understand how important the last two weeks before an MMA fight are.

"I just want to see that they're willing to hold up their end of the bargain and support me as I fight and move forward," Lashley said. "From the professional wrestling side, I don't know if they knew what kind of dedication you need leading up to the fight. If you haven't been in the actual fight business, I don't think you really understand the last few weeks leading up to a fight is a very important time."

Lashley is scheduled for the TNA Genesis PPV tonight against Abyss. TNA also has three straight days of TV tapings Monday through Wednesday. Then, Lashley is scheduled to be one of the headline acts for TNA's U.K. Tour that begins January 23 and ends January 30, which is the date of Lashley's MMA fight for Strikeforce.

"The next time I meet with them we're going to sit down and talk and say, "okay, this is the date.' I mean, we've talked about this before, but I just want to make sure that everybody is on the same page here," Lashley said. "'Okay, from the fight, I'm going to need X amount of days ... so I can really train for it.'"
