Xplosion dark match

(a) Betsy Ruth beat Daffney. This is, obviously, where Daffney got hurt. It was after a sunset flip when Betsy, who is a very large woman, came crashing down on her. You could tell Daffney was supposed to move because the other woman jumped as high as she could before crashing down instead of just sitting straight down like they do when they're actually going to land on them. Daffney finished the match, but spent the next several minutes lying center ring being tended to by agents and paramedics. Scary moment. I was glad to read this morning that she's all right.

(b) Desmond Wolfe (w/Chelsea) beat Black Machismo Jay Lethal. And okay match that saw Wolfe actually get a legitimate win.

Impact tapings for Monday

Hulk Hogan came out and cut a promo saying how excited he was to introduce the new World Heavyweight champion, RVD. RVD came out to his, now standard, large reaction. He's super over with the fans in the Impact Zone, more than Heff Hardy, or anyone else I can think of actually. He cut a standard, laid-back RVD promo about being the man and people not understand his lifestyle. He was interrupted by A.J. Styles and Ric Flair. They complained about not getting a rematch. (Also, Hogan mentioned something about the new top ten rankings system, but nothing else was said the rest of the night. He mentioned something about the fans having a say in it.)

(1) Knockouts champion Madison Rayne beat Tara and Angelina Love in a three-way to retain the Knockouts Title. Typical Knockouts match that saw Madison retain and Angelina and Tara brawl afterwards with Tara showing some heel tendencies.

(2) X Division champion Kazarian beat Shannon Moore to retain the X Division Tile. Short match where Kazarian got the win with his new finisher. Afterwards, Samoa Joe came out and destroyed Kazarian. Nice to see Joe back.

The Pope came out and cut a promo saying that he's not done with Styles and that he's also got his eye on the new champ. He was interrupted by Mr. Anderson, who cut a good promo and then attacked Pope and gouged Pope's bad eye. Good segment.

(3) Sting & A.J. Styles beat Jeff Hardy & Jeff Jarrett in a Falls Count Anywhere match. They announced Sting as the winner after he hit Jarrett with a bat in the rafters. Hardy almost did a ladder dive off the stage, but Styles was saved by the ref. Fun segment, but it wasn't even close to an actual match.

(4) TNA tag champion Matt Morgan & Jesse Neal vs. Team 3D went to a No Contest.

(5) Abyss beat Ric Flair in the Battle of the Rings match. I had to leave, so I didn't get all of the details on this.

Overall thoughts: Good show, again. The past two shows have been worlds apart from the criticized product the previous few months. Attendance was down and they had us sitting every other row for a while, but tourists were herded in to fill it out a little. Fun night, but I would have liked to have heard the details on this new fan-controlled ranking system.
