TNA is advertising two big singles matches centered around Jeff Hardy for tonight's episode of Impact on Spike TV continuing the build-up to the Slammiversary PPV in June.

One match is Mr. Anderson vs. former TNA World Hvt. champion A.J. Styles. The other singles match is Jeff Hardy vs. Desmond Wolfe.

Anderson and Hardy's characters have teased an alliance since the Sacrifice PPV earlier this month. TNA matching up a heel Styles vs. a heel-leaning-tweener Anderson will continue to build the storyline surrounding Anderson and Hardy.

TNA is also advertising follow-up on the TNA World Title match of RVD vs. Sting set for Slammiversary, more follow-up on Abyss controlling Wolfe's valet, Chelsea, more on Jay Lethal and Ric Flair, Team 3D vs. Ink, Inc. follow-up, and more matches announced for Slammiversary.

Caldwell's Analysis: TNA presenting Anderson vs. Styles on free TV is another potential PPV headline match the promotion is burning through as part of their philosophy to put big matches on free TV. This was a big topic of conversation on Wednesday's PWTorch Livecast. The problem is when there is a lack of hype for the match and a lack of built-in buzz surrounding the product, it's a wasted opportunity to draw in an audience for a big match-up like Styles vs. Anderson.

TNA has gone through Jeff Hardy vs. RVD, Jeff Hardy vs. Sting, RVD vs. Styles, Ric Flair's first match in TNA, and now Styles vs. Anderson all on free TV with limited hype and not enough time to anticipate the matches. It waters down the value of headliner vs. headliner matches and TNA is eventually going to run out of big matches to use on Impact in an attempt to draw in an audience. The issue is exacerbated by the rest of the product not being strong enough to support the show. It's simply an unsustainable pace over time.
