PWTorch reader Henry Petty sent in the following notes from Hulk Hogan appearing on a local radio station today.

Hulk Hogan was on 103.7 The Buzz sports radio station this morning in Little Rock, Arkansas promoting TNA. I'm not sure why he was on the air, as TNA isn't coming to town any time soon. Some interesting notes:

Hogan told the story of how "Hulk Hogan" came to be and said Vince McMahon, Sr. wanted him to be Irish, so he handed him two things of red dye and told him to become Irish. He said he was already balding and putting that in his hair would have finished him off, so he dumped it down the sink.

Hogan knocked WWE going PG and being more for kids. He said TNA is what wrestling should be. When asked who inspired him to get into wrestling, he said Dusty Rhodes and Jack Briscoe. He said Briscoe looked like Tom Selleck and was really big back in the day.

Hogan mentioned the Memphis territory where the weird gimmicks came out of like the tar and feather match, and painting somebody's back with yellow paint match.

He said his favorite person to work with in the ring work-wise was Kurt Angle. His favorite to work with altogether was Andre the Giant. He said his favorite person to work with who he drew the most money with was "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

Hogan said he used his reality show, "Hogan Knows Best," as an attempt to get back revive his already failing marriage, and he stated Linda was dating "young boys" even while they were married, but only found out after the divorce was through.

Hogan mentioned he turned 57-years-old last week and he went under the knife. He said he had a hole in the bottom of his spine that had to be repaired.

He said Ric Flair is his favorite wrestler and, "I don't know if that guy is 25 or 95, but he goes out there and shows up the young guys and shows you how it's supposed to be done - he's my favorite wrestler." He praised the bloodbaths that are on TNA programming right now and knocked WWE for being around "for 60 years."

Hogan told the story on quitting WWF to be in "Rocky III" because the guys were "barbarians" in the business and didn't want to expose the wrestlers. So, when they found out how successful he was after Rocky, they begged him back.

He classified the steroid scandal in the '90s as a head-hunting job by the "feds" and that Vince McMahon never made anyone take steroids; they did it on their own.

The radio interviewer told Hogan he has a great voice for radio. Hogan mentioned he had a brief show on Sirius satellite radio with Bubba the Love Sponge for one hour. He said he was told by Howard Stern he got 25,000 calls into his show, while Stern maybe gets 2,000 calls for the duration of his show.
