-- TNA wrestler Mick Foley's "big announcement" on Twitter today is that he has signed on for a movie project based on his life and career.

"I am thrilled to announce that I will be teaming up with Union Square Media to do a major movie based on my life story," Foley said on Twitter. "This really is a HUGE announcement for me - one that I hope you feel was worth waiting for."

Union Square issued a press release today announcing the movie will be produced by Jeff Katz, a former WCW writer and founder of the "American Original" production company. Foley's managers, Michael Braverman and Barry Bloom, will also be producers.

"The film, written by (director Christopher J.) Scott and Foley, will tell the unmasked story of Mick's obsessive desire to become one of the most popular wrestling icons of all time," reads the press release.

A production date and/or anticipated release date were not disclosed in the press release, which can be read at prnewswire.com.

-- Mick Foley said in an interview with Brian Fritz of Fanhouse.com that he believes he's taking up too much TV time. He added that he believes TNA needs to cut back on the amount of TV talking segments and let the wrestlers wrestle.

"To be honest, I think I have taken up too much of the show but that's not my call," he said. "I would like to be the guy that helps pave the way for some of the younger guys and I've tried to do that on occasion and I hope to do that in the future. I have taken up too much time on the show.

"I think we should be cutting back - and we have cut back - on some of the segment and allow the wrestlers to wrestle," he said. "I think there can be more emphasis on the wrestling but I think we're doing a pretty good job of weaving in the new stars and showcasing teams like the (Motor City Machine) Guns and Beer Money in way that we haven't seen tag teams showcased in a long time while using the stars that fans are familiar with."

-- Foley also published a new blog on TNAWrestling.com talking about his personal projects and the upcoming release of his "Countdown to Lockdown" book, which is due out October 1.
