This episode of Impact didn't stand out for me in any way. It wasn't a great show, with very little wrestling action and no memorable matches. It wasn't a disaster of a show either. The positives: good build to the Lockdown PPV. I know who is wrestling who on the PPV and a plausible reason why they are having the matches. The negatives: horrible interviews and too many rushed segments. If they would have only built up the matches for the upcoming PPV and concentrated on two or three storylines, the show would have been much easier to watch, follow and allowed me to become emotionally invested in the PPV. If you can follow that formula, it leads to people buying the show.

Tonight's Impact was a run-of-the-mill show that didn't do anything horrible, but didn't do anything great either. Once again, the final segment was a letdown. Samoa Joe simply walking out of the arena with Sharmell was not the type of show-ending segment to get me excited for next week. That is actually TNA's major downfall. There is no build towards the following weeks. Week one should build to week two, week two to week three and so on. Despite the one week at a time focus, there is still some intrigue in how the Lethal Lockdown storyline will be played out. Styles praising Jarrett, only to have Jarrett cost him his match puts another twist on the story. Hopefully Angle's lack of presence in the main event will be explained next week as well. Angle put Sting over an apologized to him, only to not aid him two segments later as he was being attacked by Samoa Joe.

The 3D-Beer Money storyline continues to be played out well. TNA is making the match and the tag titles seem important, something they have neglected to do in the past. Roode and Storm are playing their roles extremely well, and 3D can always be counted on to deliver strong promos when not burdened with a comedy storyline. Aside from the two title matches and the Lethal Lockdown, the rest of the show is taking a back seat. The Knockout segments need more Awesome Kong dominance, and fewer catfights. Matt Morgan vs. Abyss already seems played out, as the Dr. Stevie segments are just getting ridiculous. I couldn't even tell you what's going on in the X Division right now. Let's hope Lockdown doesn't turn out like Destination X, where TNA heavily hypes the final two or three matches and gives us nothing more than TV-quality matches for the entire undercard.

Here's what was good about tonight's show: the Foley-Sting mic work, the new Beer Money, and maybe AJ vs. Steiner. Here's what was bloody awful: the opening anointment of Jeff Jarrett as savior of TNA, and anything involving poor Dr. Stevie, who really deserves better. Everything else was just kind of blah, and blah does not a good wrestling show make.
