This was a really good Impact. As bad as Impact was just a couple of weeks ago, this show was equally as good. A strong opening segment that promoted the main event on the show, teasing a former TNA Champion returning to face Kurt Angle. A good opening match, that could have been very good if it was given more time. The 6 person Knockout tag match was short, but the post match angle was tremendous. The Mick Foley-Sting segment was also well done, thanks to Foley being one of the best in the business on the mic.

I thought the Beer Money beat down of Brother Runt and Balls Mahoney was an effective way to build heat for Beer Money before the PPV without having Team 3-D and Beer Money become physical before their PPV match. Great to have Christopher Daniels return to TNA (without the gimmicks and as the Fallen Angel character). Daniels vs. Angle was a very good match that backstage made Angle proclaim that Daniels was the best worker in the company. The Lockdown PPV should do TNA's best PPV business for 2009 PPV as the build up for Lockdown has been very good.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

It struck me watching the Abyss-ODB-Cody Deaner-Cornette backstage segment that I felt like I was watching Looney Tunes. The characters here were so cartoonish and acting in such a way that I don't think anyone REAL could relate to them. I felt like I was watching a cartoon. And yet, the rest of the episode of Impact was quite good.

I really liked Jeff Jarrett giving Angle his wishes for a match and reversing the decision, causing his team to second-guess where his allegiances lie. You can see he's torn between doing the right thing as head of TNA and doing the right thing for his team. The matches were a bit better with the usual high-energy opening contest and Daniels vs. Angle. Team 3D vs. Beer Money was set up nicely after weeks of Beer Money being kind to 3D. I still don't know what to make of Mick Foley's promo. I just hope he can have some semblance of a decent match at Lockdown.

Curtis Shanks, PWTorch.com Contributor (7.0)

Very solid show, with the puzzle fitting together nicely for Lockdown. Mick Foley has snapped and was great in his role tonight. The beatdown of Sting was a nice sendoff as the last thing we see before they match up at the PPV. We are right back where we started with the Lethal Lockdown match, Mafia vs. Front Line. It's symbolic that the three guys on Jarrett's team are Styles, Joe and Daniels - the three guys most people list when talking about TNA's young stars/originals. It is nice to see Daniels return in a prominent role, rather than a mid-card feud that doesn't make the return seem as important.

Sting vs. Foley and Front Line vs. Mafia are the big stories heading into this Sunday, but it appears a third big story is in the works. Lockdown is in Philadelphia, the former home of ECW. We're sure to see 3D, Mahoney and Spike in the tag match, but we may see other names from ECW's past as well. Tazz could be the "former champion" TNA has been teasing, so we could see an ECW reunion of sorts if TNA can bring a few more names into the mix. I'm not a hardcore junkie, but the ECW storyline could a nice sight if done well. Or it could be done horribly and seem like nothing more than TNA once again referencing past promotions with the misconception that it is furthering their own.
