Good episode of TV. It was nice to see an appreciative crowd firmly behind the ECW brand to help the show come across a bit more lively than your average Tuesday night broadcast. Former ECW champion Jack Swagger stands out right off the top from this week's show. Swagger didn't have much talking time in the opening segment, but he closed the show in a position of control as the desperate former heel champion. His star seems to rise with each passing show.

Tommy Dreamer took advantage of his TV main event opportunity with a good showing against Christian. WWE has been so hit-or-miss with Dreamer's "quest" storyline that it could be completely forgotten five weeks from now when it's time for Dreamer's contract to expire. Or, WWE could actually do something Dreamer's quest and turn this into a weekly storyline. We'll see. It's all about follow-up.

Christian's first week as ECW champion was a "thumbs up." His opening promo was fine and he worked well in the main event as the 'tweener champion to Dreamer's underdog babyface. ... Tyson Kidd vs. Finlay was a good undercard TV match. Finlay will continue to be employed by WWE in a wrestling role as long as he helps elevate younger talent. He did that with Lashley a few years ago and he helped Swagger earlier this year. Good victory for Kidd over Finlay as part of Kidd's national TV development.

Another good edition of ECW. The Tyson Kidd-Finlay match was good as they were given a nice amount of time to tell a story. Striker was again very good on commentary. I sure hope they have more planned for Hurricane Helms than doing interviews as he could shine on ECW. The main event of Christian vs. Dreamer was a very good main event and Swagger got legit heat from the crowd for his interference in the match. This main event blew away the Raw main event from Monday night.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

I almost thought Jack Swagger would help Tommy Dreamer win the ECW Title so he would have to face him at Judgment Day rather than Christian. The segment to open the show was fine to set up the main event later on. Good to see the crowd into the show as well. Vladimir Kozlov....I don't know what to think. First, he was too basic with no music so they had to add THAT; now apparently he's too bland and needs new threads. I think he was fine the way he was. No-nonsense.

I'm surprised to see Hurricane Helms as a backstage announcer. I'm hoping it's an attempt to keep them on separate brands too. Helms has that Carolina drawl though, so I'm surprised they gave him that job. I wonder how long it'll be 'til he, clad in suit, goes into a phone booth to transform back into the Hurricane. Tyson Kidd vs. Finlay was entertaining. I like that the younger wrestlers get to work with Finlay. Too bad they didn't keep Dave Taylor, or use William Regal in a similar role to Finlay's. The main event was about as good as Dreamer is going to do these days. I'm sure being in MSG helped motivate him to go the extra mile too.
