James Caldwell, Torch Assistant Editor (7.5)

Good, high-energy episode of TV. Can't go wrong with a Tyson Kidd vs. Evan Bourne match or Tommy Dreamer attempting a cannonball dive onto the floor that he's going to be feeling in the morning. ECW has done a much better job than the Raw brand of simplifying things post-Draft and finding a consistent theme or "voice" to the show. You get action, you get high-flying, you get a nice TV main event each week. Very consistent and that makes it a much better show.

The TV main event of Christian & Dreamer vs. Henry & Swagger effectively set up ECW's PPV match of Christian vs. Swagger for the ECW Title. I don't know if it will sell any additional buys on its own merit, but it gives ECW a purpose and reason to tune in each week. They worked around Henry's limitations and used some good work from Christian, Swagger, and Dreamer to play off Henry's strengths.

The opening match between Tyson Kidd and Evan Bourne should have been hyped more, but they had a very strong first encounter on ECW TV. Some flashes of brilliance mixed with Kidd's awesome matwork on Bourne made for a good 15-minute opening segment on the show.

Kozlov's squash was fine. They're just trying to re-build him after he ran into a few roadblocks of terrible matches while on the Smackdown side. I don't know if he'll able be ever to work a wrestling match longer than five minutes, but WWE is apparently confident they can utilize him in some capacity.

Dominick Mayer, PWTorch.com Contributor (7.0)

Solid show in the new timeslot tonight. Incidentally, I almost missed it because of that. Anyhow, Bourne-Kidd was awesome while it lasted. It really was. I think Caldwell hit it on the head when he said that this could be an ECW title match down the road. Also, I like the Kidd-Finlay program; Finlay tends to work better when he's paired with a guy who can move. I really thought the final turn at the ending was good, because instead of matches just ending like on Raw as soon as someone runs in, followed by a brawl or a talking segment, Tiffany did what a GM is supposed to do and rolled with the punches, starting a new match.

It's strange when the show with the most direction seems to be ECW right now. Also, as far as Kozlov goes: The squashes work. It's him facing an actual wrestler I continue to worry about. This re-buildup is good, though, and I personally think he should've been on ECW to begin with.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

A fine showing from the ECW brand tonight. I felt like Kidd vs. Bourne was just a preview, just a taste of what they COULD do, so when they match up again, hopefully it's hyped and people will remember this match and say, "they're going at it again? I can't miss this one!" Effective way to get people into future contests. Jack Swagger's interview was fine, but it's tough to get past the lisp and that blank smile of his.

The Kozlov squash was what it was; starting him off on ECW the same way he started on Smackdown, and I'm sure the same whey they'll inevitably start Ezekiel Jackson, once he's repackaged or WWE decides he's been off TV long enough for people to forget about him. All the purple in Zack Ryder's outfit reminded me of Simon Dean. I don't know what he's supposed to be. The main event(s) wasn't great, but they got the job done. I'm still thinking Dreamer might be added to make it a three-way at Judgment Day.
