Smackdown: C.M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho was an excellent TV main event with a hot crowd into the action and each nearfall before Punk scored the quick victory. A really, really nice match that was enhanced by Jim Ross's call. Punk looked sharp and aggressive going up against a wrestler the caliber of Jericho. It was obvious Punk was motivated to show he can work at Jericho's level and it led to a great match. Nice piece of match-making for Thursday night.

Raw: Kofi Kingston vs. William Regal was a standard five-minute Raw TV match. Not much to say here. ... ECW: I'm tired of the Josh Mathews and Matt Striker combo. Todd Grisham & Striker rocked. Mathews, either on his own or by virtue of a WWE production mandate, is dead quiet for most of the matches on the ECW brand and the Christian vs. Tommy Dreamer match was no exception. I'm not an advocate of the TNA approach to have the announcers talking non-stop, even if there's nothing to talk about, but I often wonder if Mathews is even awake during ECW matches. There was barely an expression of concern at the end of the ECW Title match for Dreamer's latest failure in his Quest. Sense of urgency, maybe? Announcers treated it like just another WWE TV match with a non-finish. Frustrating.

Jon Mezzera, PWTorch.com Contributor (9.0)

Being a wrestling critic, and being just a critical person, I hate to give a show this high of a score, but Superstars was very good. There were three good matches. I wasn't thrilled with opening the show with the ECW Title match, but Christian vs. Tommy Dreamer delivered. I enjoyed the match, and I liked seeing Jack Swagger interfere in the end. I also loved how Dreamer grabbed the Title belt from Christian at the end. That is a little thing to show how important the Title is. Kofi Kingston vs. William Regal was only five minutes, but it was a good five minutes of wrestling action. The main event, CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho was a great 14 minute match. That was a PPV quality match for free. The match built very well and had a great ending sequence. I also liked how Jericho got his heat back after the match by hitting the Code Breaker.

Other than the wrestling quality, I also liked the brief video on Swagger. Superstars has one of these videos on a different wrestler each week. Usually they are random and don't add to the show, although they are short and well produced so they don't take away from the show either. This time though, the video came right after Swagger's appearance and I liked how it tied into what just happened, as opposed to the random nature that they usually have. Jericho also gave a very good interview with Josh Mathews.

My only complaint really has little to do with Superstars itself. I really was put off by the announcements made for next week's Raw in regards to the WWE's feud with the Denver Nuggets. I went into great detail on this in my Hits & Misses, so I won't say more now, other than the fact that interjecting this stupidity into an otherwise great show was disappointing.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (7.0)

Hard to argue with the in-ring action put forth by Superstars this week. Christian and Tommy Dreamer had about the best match Dreamer is capable of having these days (without weapons, anyway). Interjecting Jack Swagger into things moved that storyline along. It's good to do that on Superstars even though regular ECW on Sci-Fi viewers may be missing out.

Jericho vs. Punk was a very good TV match, toward the higher end of what you'd expect from these two. I can't help but wonder what William Regal could produce if given the opportunity in a meaningful feud. I thought he was headed that way with MVP, but that seems to have been side-tracked for the time being.
