I don't want to be as hard on ol' Double J as Wade was in his Daily Keller Hotline, but him scaring off an entire group of heels with his guitar in the opening segment made the Mafia look so weak. While Curtis, in his review below, notes that in TNA, there are more things going on than a match result, I wouldn't necessarily consider that a good thing. When match results take a back seat to mind-numbing stipulations and non-sensical turns, it hurts the product and makes matches themselves look less important if the results aren't considered the be-all and end-all by the wrestlers in them.

I continue to like what TNA is doing with the Knockouts Division, but I don't know if pairing Tara with a spider is the right thing to do. Hopefully she moves beyond that once her run against the Beautiful People is over with. I liked the Dr. Stevie stuff at first, but it's getting a bit too broad and far-out for my tastes. I hate when a tag match can decide a World Champion, but I think they've got the belt on the right guy at this point.

Curtis Shanks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.0)

The hype for Victory Road is shaping up nicely. Once again, we got a run-of-the-mill show that ended with a hot main event angle. There are plenty of aspects to the world title situation in TNA, and as usual, it's hard to predict how everything will play out. Sure, Angle will more than likely retain vs. Foley. But in TNA there is a lot more going on than just a match result. Impact is still not considered to be a great wrestling show by the masses, but if you were to only pay attention to the main event storylines, opinions might be a little different.

The main event world title match itself was a good match, but suffered from overbooking and a lack of hype. A world title match on free TV, no matter how overbooked and convoluted, should be hyped a week in advance to gauge interest and pop a rating. This match very easily could have been made last week without screwing up the storylines in a dramatic fashion.

Along with the world title situation, I am enjoying what is going on in the tag team division. Booker and Steiner give Beer Money a fresh match-up that we haven't seen before, with Beer Money still remaining in the 'tweener role. While the tag division is strong along with the heavyweights, the X division has suddenly lost even more importance (if that was possible). Two consecutive weeks without any real X Division involvement is not good news. Unless some type of X Cup matches take place (Victory Road is the usual occurrence for these), the X guys may be relegated to meaningless undercard matches. Wait, that usually is the case for a TNA PPV.

Daniel Wilkenfeld, PWTorch.com Contributor (7.0)

I liked this show. There was at least one rock solid match, some nice showcases, and a bit of development in the main storylines revolving around four of their five titles. Even the Abyss bits were surprisingly watchable, proving that a good performance can sometimes bail out even the worst of plots. This show takes a major hit though for what wasn't there—one week without any X Division development is acceptable, but two in a row is not cool.
