Dominick Mayer, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

Decent episode of Impact this week. The big highlight for me was the Knockouts title change with Tara. I didn't quite see that coming until Victory Road, so it was a nice swerve that wasn't a TNA-like swerve. Booker T going back into Black Snow mode was awesome too, though even more than on the night of the MEM invasion, I had absolutely no idea what was coming out of his mouth. The World title angle makes my head hurt just thinking about it, and TNA really needs to stop having Jarrett and Foley open the show with 20 minutes of exposition almost every week. The main event worked, and I liked Eric Young as the jaded ref; I've never understood why biased guest referees don't always abuse their power throughout the match in that vein.

The Abyss-Dr. Stevie angle continues to get progressively more insane with each week, though I'll admit it's got me engaged, so I guess that's the desired reaction. They need a blowoff match, though, or this is going to overstay its welcome really quickly; I don't know how much more they can up the ante now that nerve drugs have entered the picture. Joe pulling a knife on Sting is what it is, and it pushes their PPV match, which shouldn't be happening in ten days, but oh well. For me, the only really glaring low points this week were pretty glaring. First, the two-minute ladder match, which is just a shame in every way. It totally cheapens a gimmick match when you waste it. This being said, at least Homicide's back. The other really low point was the Suicide interview, which at least to me was laugh-out-loud funny, between Suicide doing Christian Bale's voice from "The Dark Knight" and Tenay trying to keep a deadpan face as he read entrance music lyrics that sounded like a junior high kid's poetry. This character has in past weeks come off way better than it has any business doing, but that was a step back.

The Knockouts Division has vaulted back to the top of the positives in TNA. Tara seems to have taken the role of good in-ring babyface that TNA has been lacking since Gail Kim. Her feud with the Beautiful People has been entertaining, even if the company had to TNA it up by adding a spider to things. Good to see Homicide back to reclaim his briefcase. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Morgan & Nash vs. Styles & Daniels tag match.

However, seeing the Motor City Machine Guns jobbed like they were was disappointing; I'd very much look forward to a long-term feud featuring them against Beer Money. I liked Sting's encounter with Samoa Joe mostly for Sting's mic work, which he gets criticized for, and rightfully so, at times. I'm not sure why Jeff Jarrett would want to work with Mick Foley after they've had pretty much a blood feud to this point.

Daniel Wilkenfeld, PWTorch.com Contributor (5.0)

This show wasn't cringe-worthy by any means, but it wasn't really very good either. I don't get why we're supposed to root for Tara over the champion who sticks by her friend. I also don't know why the writers are trying to bury Abyss under layer upon layer of stupid plots. I really don't know why the Motor City Machine Guns only get four minutes, and that as an afterthought in someone else's feud.
