ECW TV just seems to be minding its own business delivering good-to-great TV on a weekly basis. They're developing a mid-card. Veterans are being used effectively. Storylines are progressing. Nice little show. Only problem is the Abraham Washington Show continuing to be a drag. After Goldust seemed to take a turn for the better with that great match against Sheamus on Superstars last week, they stuck him on AHam's show to play up the "really bad comedy" side of his character. Sheamus's follow-up appearance straightened things up, but we don't need any tics or shakes or stuttering from Goldust.

The ECW Title match build-up for Summerslam was well done. William Regal and his hired assassins delivered an effective beat down on Christian that only required three moves to get the point across. Christian has a reason to seek revenge at the PPV and it should lead to a nice, intense match-up. Basic, fundamentally-sound build-up. Well done.

I like Zack Ryder picking up the victory over Yoshi Tatsu, but it's one of those matches like Miz-Bourne from Raw on Monday where both the heel and the face needed a win. Yoshi is losing a touch of momentum right now. A longer match would have helped both men retain credibility, while still enhancing Ryder with the same match result.

Tony Donofrio, PWTorch.com Contributor (7.0)

Other than The Abraham Washington Show, there were no hardcore complaints about this show. Starting with the negative, Washington's show continues to be a regular miss. There were a few laughs at the beginning of the segment, but it went all downhill from there. It was nice to see Sheamus and Goldust get some time on the mic and continue their feud but this could've all been done without Abe.

The Hurricane vs. Paul Burchill was a decent TV match. While watching this I was thinking that I'd like to see Gregory Helms wrestle as both himself and The Hurricane to help further the angle with Burchill that Helms isn't The Hurricane. Regardless, it was a solid TV match and it's nice to see ECW have a few secondary feuds going on at the same time.

Yoshi Tatsu and Zack Ryder put on a nice little three minute match. Other than the ending, I thought the match was okay for what it was. I just couldn't buy Yoshi being pinned after taking knees to the face like we see in most matches where high fliers do the same spot.

The main event had me thinking a few things and they did go with one of the ways that I had thought they might. The way they didn't go was for Vladimir Kozlov and Big Zeke to not touch each other in this match but stay in that "mystery zone" for awhile longer and making their first time going head to head a little more special. However, the way they went was still pretty damn good. I love Christian having three strong (maybe more literal than physical) heels gunning for him and the ECW Title. It makes the title seem more important. Even if those three are united in the hunt for the title, it still gives the ECW Title more credibility, in my opinion.

Dominick Mayer, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

Mostly a strong episode of the show this week. Regal looked good going into the Summerslam title match, and I wonder if the show's ending is going to lead to some kind of faction. Tommy Dreamer was good on the mic in his brief role, and the show sold his injury nicely. The Hurricane-Burchill match was by far the highlight of the show, as both men looked really strong and it played as a nice return for Hurricane, and a reacquaintance with his moves for those who don't remember him.

However, I can never put this show beyond an average rating as long as a quarter hour every week is being devoted to Abraham Washington and his consistently horrendous segments. It was especially apparent this week, for Goldust and Sheamus both did what they could, but Washington's character is just so grating that if it wasn't my job to watch his segment, I'd turn off ECW the rest of the night every time he showed up, and I really like this show.

Jon Mezzera, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

This was a solid-to-good episode of ECW. Nothing really blew me away. The wrestling action was fine, but not great. Hurricane vs. Paul Burchill was good at 11 minutes. It was nice to see Hurricane back healthy in a WWE ring and Burchill is starting to develop a character with this feud. However, Hurricane looked a bit rusty at times and they were a bit off at times too. It was still good, but not as good as it could have been. Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder was good, but too short. Ryder was the right man to get the win, but I wish it had happened after 2 or 3 more minutes of good action.

The focus of the show was the main event, as William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov took out Tommy Dreamer early, leaving Christian to find a new partner which he did in Ezekiel Jackson. This all built to Jackson turning on Christian in the end. This was the highlight of the show and was well executed. Is this a one night deal, or the start of a new faction? I am curious to find out. Also, I was thrilled to see the Kozlov-Jackson angle advance into a partnership and not a feud.

The one big drawback was again the Abraham Washington Show. I just don't like this guy's gimmick. It is old already. I like that WWE gave Goldust and Shaemus a chance to talk, but it was poorly scripted to have Goldust talking about his stutter instead of Shaemus. Once they got in each others faces, Washington put an abrupt ending to the segment which didn't work.

Greg Parks, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.0)

Show started off on the right foot with a good Helms vs. Burchill match. I'm surprised they started Helms back with such a long match, but he didn't seem to be thrown by it. He got the win, which was expected. I wouldn't mind seeing his feud with Pirate Paul go a little further. Ryder vs. Tatsu was a nice, short match that continued to get Ryder over. They really seemed to have cooled on Tatsu after he was so hot right out of the gate.

Positive: Goldust and Sheamus' seemingly will continue. Negative: It was advanced on the Abraham Washington Show. I don't remember the last time someone got such "go away" heat. The worst part about his segments is they're not entertaining in the least. I think they could've made Ezekiel Jackson a legit face by having him come to Christian's rescue to team with him and look dominant. Instead, they turned him heel. I'm not sure how I feel about it; I like the three-man team of Regal, Zeke and Kozlov, but I thought Jackson, by being against Kozlov, would get over as a face.
