James Caldwell, Torch Assistant Editor (5.5)

It sure didn't feel like anything mattered with this lame-duck episode featuring the pre-funeral ECW episode. WWE just seemed to be tying together loose ends by having the Vance Archer vs. Shelton Benjamin blow-off and setting up the blow-off to Christian vs. Ezekiel Jackson on next week's show.

I liked Archer vs. Shelton. It was a physical, tough match. WWE just needs to address the blood stoppage rule during matches. From a kayfabe perspective, it gives the blood recipient an unfair advantage to have the match stopped to recover. Fans are also taken out of the match. It's just odd, but at least safety measures are being taken overall.

Yoshi & Goldust picking up a Unified tag title shot on the final ECW should make for an interesting match-up with ShowMiz. I like Miz vs. Yoshi as a U.S. Title feud on Raw and Goldust vs. Show will be a good one-on-one match-up inside the tag match next week. Nice build-up for the funeral on the pre-funeral lame-duck ECW episode.

Dominick Mayer, PWTorch.com Contributor (6.5)

Another good but not great show going into the home stretch. The main focus this week was building up next week's final episode of ECW (at least WWECW) ever. To that end, success. Yoshi and Goldust are up for a tag title shot, and I'm really hoping that team, and for that matter this feud, continues on, as I can see both of them getting lost in the shuffle, and both have proven themselves more than worthy while on ECW. Zeke Jackson will likely get a nice mid-to-upper-midcard push wherever he ends up, as his ring work has made great strides and with William Regal as a mouthpiece, he doesn't really have to be able to cut a promo.

Shelton Benjamin winning was bittersweet, because it's probably the last main event he'll work for a while; as much as I don't want it to happen, his next run on Raw or Smackdown will likely turn out like all the others. The title match will be interesting; it might be smarter to put the strap on Jackson when it goes as a pushing point, but Christian's going to have enough trouble getting pushed on another show. I'm curious to see next week's finale.

Greg Parks, Torch Columnist (6.0)

I was, and still continue to be, puzzled by ECW GM Tiffany's cheery attitude when announcing the end of her brand to the wrestlers in the locker room. The show itself built toward next week nicely, and too many times in the past the show wasn't building toward anything because they were left off PPVs so often and the mid-card was just stagnant and didn't have a chance on a big stage either. Good to see Goldust and Tatsu getting a tag title shot next week: they deserve it.

Ezekiel Jackson is back to squashing jobbers, and he should get used to it; I'm sure that's how whatever brand he lands on will introduce (or re-introduce) him. It was funny that they made a big deal about next week being Christian vs. Jackson in an Extreme Rules match, since that's pretty much what this week's main event was in Shelton Benjamin vs. Vance Archer. Match was fine and Archer showed nice subtlety in digging into the rib area of Shelton when he had the arm barred a couple times. A good enough main event.
