This was a ho-hum version of Raw. It wasn't particularly exciting but it wasn't particularly bad either. First of all, "The Hoff" was a major disappointment as host. I know most wouldn't expect much from him as the host but I grew up as a fan of Knight Rider and when he first came out driving KITT, I had hopes for him as the host. That all went out the window when he opened his mouth. He was so over the top that I almost muted the TV every time he was on. At this point, I'm really hoping and praying that guest host concept is eliminated by early Summer.
As for the rest of the show, it was OK. The divas matches were what they were. It's a shame when a title win, even if it is the Divas Title, is glossed over and given almost no reaction by the live crowd. If the Baywatch triple threat tag match was supposed to supply a shot of T&A to the show, it failed. If I want that, I'll watch TNA...pun intended. I was really hoping to see D.H. Smith go over The Miz, as well. The Miz didn't need this win and I think the Hart Dynasty needs the push right now. With that said, I don't think that their push is gone but I was hoping to see more of it last night on the flagship.
Moving onto the main eventers (and hopefully those approaching it), I was happy to see the curve thrown at us with Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules. That leaves the Chris Jericho-Edge feud alive and well...and let's be honest, this feud never did really need a title to give it a spark. Batista and John Cena continue to have a much better feud that I ever imagined. I wasn't particularly thrilled with the main event but it accomplished what it was supposed to (also, kudos to Swagger for having a match two and a half hours before Raw's main event at a Smackdown house show and then traveling over two hours to get to Raw on time for his 60 second spot).
As for those hopefully approaching main event status on a consistent basis, I thought Sheamus gave a strong promo and was happy to see Kofi Kingston at least try to avenge the previous weeks beat down. I'm really thinking that we might not see Kofi for a few weeks until the conclusion of Sheamus' feud with HHH. I think this will turn into the next feud for both of these guys and hopefully help get both over in the process. Finally, not that these guys are approaching main event, or even solid mid-card status, but Carlito and Evan Bourne had a solid little match and deserve a mention. It's a shame that neither one of these guys ever seem to get a chance to do anything relevant.

This was a bit better than last week's Raw. It got off to an OK start with David Hasselhoff as the guest host. He did a pretty good job and actually sounded like he knew what and whom he was talking about in making matches. I didn't like that the Raw guest host somehow had the power to book Smackdown's World Champion Jack Swagger in a Title match against Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, but I liked that I predicted it last week. It was fun to hear the "Knight Rider" theme as it is one of the all time greatest TV theme songs and to see KITT.
The other positives of this show start with the feud between ShoMiz and The Hart Dynasty. The Miz was good on the mic setting up Bret Hart's interruption. Their verbal sparring worked well. David Hart Smith isn't very good on the mic, but he was OK here. I expected him to beat Miz, so Miz's cheating victory was a nice surprise. I look forward to seeing more next week. Sheamus gave a good promo about Triple H. I liked that Kofi Kingston came out to get revenge for what Sheamus did to him last week. Their match was very competitive and made Kingston look much stronger than getting squashed. The post-match beating was well done too. The main event of Orton vs. Batista was a good match and a good set up for the run-ins from Swagger and John Cena. This was a good way to build towards two big matches at the PPV. I really liked how Cena counted to 10 after applying the STF to Batista.
The negatives on the show involved the continued poor use of the Divas. The Diva Title match between Maryse and Eve lasted about 2 minutes which is a joke. It was a fine match to that point and I loved how Maryse laughed when Eve missed the moonsault. Eve's bridge pin for the win looked really good. But, why only 2 minutes? I don't know why you have a Title when you care for it so little that you have 2 minute Title matches. The other bad part of Raw was the Baywatch Babes tag match. The Divas are painted as a group, not as individual women wrestlers which was very evident when they all came out to matching bathing suits. The match again was very short and the Hornswoggle humor has got to go away.

A solid episode of Raw, a notch above last week's offering. It's becoming a weekly race between WWE and TNA over "who can devalue the women's division more?" First, you've got Eve Torres winning the Divas Championship, though she has no real character and isn't good yet in the ring. Maryse isn't either, but at least she's a heat magnet. Then, the Baywatch Tag Match, which was pointless, aside from the semi-humorous ending with Santino and Hornswoggle.
David Hasselhoff was fine as a guest host, and it's nice to see WWE keep them on the back-burner, even after Wrestlemania. Kofi had a nice showing against Sheamus, which speaks well of his future. I was surprised D.H. Smith lost, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of still getting a match between the two at Extreme Rules. Bourne vs. Carlito was a fine mid-card match, but nothing more. Kozlov vs. MacGruber could be fun next week, and I hope they allow Kristen Wiig and Will Forte some input into the sketches WWE will no doubt be putting on. Cena vs. Batista also continues to develop nicely.
