[Q9]

6 -- JACK SWAGGER vs. JOHN MORRISON

Striker said you can easily get behind someone like Morrison because of his style. Lawler said Swagger has to be feeling confident after his victory over Orton at the PPV last night. At the top of the hour Cole reset the show, with a recap of the draft. Morrison hit a corkscrew plancha at 5:00. Afterward, Swagger speared Morrison into the ribcage in the corner. [c] Swagger had Morrison grounded after the break. Morrison made a comeback and hit a standing shooting star press at 11:00 for a two count. Morrison continued to sell his sore ribs. Morrison took it to Swagger at ringside at 12:00. Back in the ring Swagger went for a gut-wrench powerbomb, but Morrison countered with a Russian leg sweep. Morrison went for Starship Pain, but Swagger moved and gave him a gut-wrench powerbomb off the top rope for the win. Striker said: "Smack-diz'own brother." Cole said he should translate. Striker said, "The cool kids get me, don't worry."

WINNER: Swagger in 14:00.

STAR RATING: **1/2 - Good match.

Draft Pick #7: Christian to Smackdown. This keeps he and Edge apart. I talked on today's PWTorch Livecast that Christian and Edge could form a team again and maybe just give each a chance to find their characters again and then split off this fall for singles feuds with each other or with others. Instead, they're crossing paths. Christian should get more of a chance to move up the roster on Smackdown. A heel turn might not be a bad idea, either.

[Q10] [c]

-Cole announced that Wayne Brady would be guest host next week. Then they recapped the draft. Lawler bragged up Raw's acquisitions: Morrison, R-Truth, and Edge. Striker bragged up Smackdown's acquisitions: Kingston, Christian, Kelly Kelly, and Big Show.

-Ted DiBiase approached Carlito backstage. He told Carlito that his way isn't working very well lately, so if he takes his offer, he won't sit on the sidelines anymore. Carlito said he'd rather sit on the sidelines than take his offer. "That's not cool," he said. What were the terms of DiBIase's deal, anyway. Truth walked into the room. DiBiase smiled and made him a proposition. He said he's been looking for someone to look after him and carry his bags. Truth said he wants himself a Virgil. "Your daddy had a Virgil, and now you want a Virgil." DiBiase said he's nothing like his father. He told Truth they'd have a different relationship. DiBIase said he'd tell him what to do, and then he'd do it, and then he'd pay him a lot of money to do it. Truth got interested. He asked DiBiase to give him time to think about it. DiBiase said okay. Truth then slapped him. It was well timed and pretty funny.

-The announcers chuckled at Truth. Cole then said this is the start of National Military Appreciation Month. Cole said no one appreciates the military more than WWE and John Cena. Well, it's good to know nobody appreciates the troops more than Cena. I wonder how much of his millions of dollars of income a year goes to helping out injured soldiers who can't support their families? It's not something obviously he'd publicize, because that would seem like he was trying to cash in on his contributions, but with that claim, he must give almost all of his income to veterans in need. They aired a video package on Cena's visiting of the troops including in Iraq. [c]

7 -- DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. HORNSWOGGLE

When Hornswoggle walked out, Cole asked, "How did this happen?" Exactly. Who's booking Raw when there's no guest cohost? Ziggler chased down Hornswoggle and choked him at ringside. Then he threw him into the ring. Lawler said Ziggler feels insulted by having this level of competition. Ziggler was counted out, though, because Hornswoggle dropped him from reentering the ring by throwing his shoes at him. Ziggler took out his anger on Hornswoggle, attacking him afterward and then applying a sleeper.

WINNER: Hornswoggle via countout in 1:00.

[Q11]

Draft Pick #8: Chris Jericho to Raw. That's pretty big. Edge and Jericho both move to Raw, so that feud may continue after all. Big Show may take Jericho's place as a top heel on Smackdown. [c]

-Batista made an "unscheduled appearance" and threw a fit about Cena embarrassing him last night. He said he should get a rematch, not Sheamus or Orton. Sheamus walked out and said he's like Orton, someone who just can't admit when he loses. He called Batista a loser. Orton came out and said when he was in Evolution with Batista, he had to listen to him whine and complain all the time. Orton offered that if he beat Sheamus, he'd face Batista one-on-one right after and if Batista beat him, he could have the title shot. Batista laughed and said, "I'm the man!" Sheamus said neither of them deserve the shot at the WWE Title. He called them both losers again. Cena came out onto the stage and said the answer is easy - make it a Triple Threat match.

8 -- RANDY ORTON vs. BATISTA vs. SHEAMUS

Orton and Batista took turns beating up Sheamus and threw him out of the ring. Then Orton and Batista fought.

[Q12]

Orton scored a a near fall at 3:00. Sheamus returned by taking a shot at Orton on the ring apron. Orton rammed Sheamus into the ringpost in retaliation. That let Orton and Batista battle again one-on-one. Sheamus returned and beat on Batista as Orton watched. Orton then tossed Sheamus out of the ring. Lawler said he likes that none of the three wrestlers are forming an alliance even if just for 30 seconds. [c]

They showed that during the break Orton shoved Batista into the ringpost followed by Sheamus immediately charging into Orton. Batista returned to his feet, but Orton reverse whipped him into the steel steps. A lot happened during the break. Cole said Sheamus was enjoying his first sustained offense of the night. All three fought at ringside at 12:00. Back in the ring Batista clotheslined Sheamus. Orton re-entered the ring and went after both Batista and Sheamus. He knocked Sheamus to the floor, then took Batista down. Cole got excited. Sheamus backdropped Orton to the floor, but then Batista surprised Sheamus with an attack that led to an atomic slam. Orton yanked Batista off of Sheamus during a near fall. Orton went for the cover, but Sheamus kicked out.

Orton turned to Batista as he entered the ring and gave him a DDT. Orton pounded his fists into the mat. Sheamus blind-sided him with a running knee to the head. Sheamus picked up a limp Orton, but Batista recovered and speared Sheamus for a very near fall. Orton came back and cleared the ring of Batista and then hit the mat again to set up his RKO. He delivered it. Edge, though, charged into the ring and hit Orton with a spear. Edge bobbed his head in satisfaction as Batista draped his hand over Orton's chest and the ref counted to three. Striker said, "Let's not forget Edge's history with Randy Orton."

WINNER: Batista in 16:00.

STAR RATING: ***3/4 -- Very good TV main event. Edge appears to be going heel already since Orton is clearly being positioned as a babyface. We'll see. Edge was flopping as a babyface act, so this is probably a good move.
