MAIN EVENT PREDICTION

The Return of John Cena: Survivor Series is coming to Boston on November 23rd and I’ll be there! One other guy who I expect to see in the same building that night is John Cena. I cringe as a write this as I am very anti-Cena, but as it looks right now, there is no big main event set for one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year. That along with all the Cena promos we’ve been getting lately and the fact that Survivor Series is coming from Boston leads me to believe that John Cena will be headlining the show alongside Chris Jericho in a World Heavyweight Championship Match.

I think it has been a great breath of fresh air to have Cena free Monday nights and the former champions, up to and including Chris Jericho have all done a good job in their respective rolls. But I’m not sure if the breath of fresh air has been so pleasing to the decision makers at WWE HQ. I think Jericho will be able to hold off Cena’s first attempt next month at Survivor Series, but I think Cena will be back and eventually get the dupe and claim the World Heavyweight Title for the first time.

After concluding his feud with Jericho, Cena might have a run in with Orton, but Dave Batista will be waiting for him at WrestleMania 25, which will all be looked at closer in coming weeks.

MID-CARD PREDICTION

Matt Morgan and Abyss: Does anyone else think it is completely laughable every time Morgan and Abyss refer to each other as best friend? TNA has done some pretty awful backstage promos in the past, but the string of recent ones featuring Morgan and Abyss may take the cake as being the worst of all time.

Can anyone take them seriously or believe in them in the slightest? Who honestly thinks that they are friends? Abyss is supposed to be a monster that hides his face and visits an insane asylum. Matt Morgan was once Jim Cornette’s bodyguard who appears on American Gladiators. And now, all of a sudden, these two seemingly opposing personalities are best friends? Why do they want to be friends so bad in the first place? People are asking too many questions in terms of “how did we get here” to care much about “where are we going”.

If I had to put money on it, I would bet that we are going to see Matt Morgan turn on Abyss, sending his former best friend into a nosedive back toward the vile monster that he once was and destroying any confidence that his psychiatrist established.

Abyss will once again be in the main event as a face, but nobody will remember how he got there because the road he took alongside best friend Matt Morgan was so incredibly stupid.

PLEASE NOT THAT PREDICTION

Kane versus Rey Mysterio: Please WWE, end this feud already! It has really been poorly done ever since Kane revealed to have Rey’s mask in his bag. I suppose it was a good enough way to reintroduce Mysterio after his absence, but that feud should have gone no longer than one or two months.

Initially I was thinking that their Cyber Sunday match would be the final nail in the coffin to their rivalry, but with Survivor Series looming, I am fearful that both men will be on opposing teams to draw this feud out even longer. After Survivor Series is over, they could even have one more pay-per-view match to end it all with a single’s match.

This feud has not been fun. I love watching Rey Mysterio and I don’t mind Kane (for the most part), but they have not been able to put together any quality matches throughout their time as rivals. I want Rey to have an opponent he can move with. Kane has been built up as such a monster that any offense he delivers to Mysterio required Rey to be incapable of dishing out any himself. It’s no fun to just watch Mysterio on the mat taking a beating from Kane match after match.

I really, really don’t want another two months of Kane shooting promos about how he plans to brutalize Mysterio. Everyone knows it just isn’t happening at this point. Both Mysterio and Kane need something new and I can’t imagine any wrestling fan not being completely sick and tired of this feud.

FINGERS CROSSED PREDICTION

Santino versus The Honky Tonk Man: Okay, perhaps I am being very optimistic here, but I really do think we’ll see The Honky Tonky Man beat out Golden Dust and Rodney The Piper in the voting tonight. I mean really, who doesn’t want to see Marella go against the same man whose record he is trying to break?

I know Piper is heavily favored to win, but we have already seen a Santino/Piper feud, and not long ago, might I add. Sure Roddy is a much bigger name than Honky, but Piper has been popping up a lot lately in WWE. Even fans that have been fans for just a short amount of time are familiar with The Rowdy One. The Honky Tonk Man has not been seen on WWE programming since he was transforming Billy Gunn into Rockabilly.

As for the match itself? If the HTM does indeed get voted in, I foresee Santino retaining the IC Title after being disqualified by using the guitar over the Honky Tonk Man’s head. From there, they can go on to have a mini rivalry for a couple more weeks on Raw.

If Piper gets the nod, I think we’ll see Beth get involved and cost Piper the win after a trip or something of the like. I don’t really see Piper sticking around after Sunday since a Santino/Piper feud has been done.

And if Goldust gets voted in?...What am I saying, Goldust doesn’t stand a chance.

ONE LAST PREDICTION

Victoria wins the costume contest... come on, how did she lose last year?
