Welcome to the TNA Impact edition of Under the Microscope. We're here to review all those little observations and tidbits you may have missed. This is not a detailed recap of the show, but a review for those of you that saw the show but didn't actually "watch" it.

After last week, we know that ODB should just try e-harmony, and "empty arena" means only fifteen people are allowed in. But what else is there to notice? Let's see what we can spot. Cue the opening pyro.

Somebody is in trouble in the MEM locker room, as our first backstage segment sees two uniformed police officers looking for a "Mr. Huffman." While many of us smart fans probably knew that Huffman was Booker T's real last name, Kurt Angle was not aware of it and seemed surprised. Apparently the MEM's new logo is "We're a family, but we don't know or care about your surname."

This is not the first time Booker's last name was said on TV, as I remember he and Sharmell referring to themselves as the "Huffman family" during the Chris Benoit tribute that aired on Raw a couple years back. While Huffman is his real last name, the T does hold significance as well. He was born Booker Tio Huffman, thus the reason WWE was not able to copyright the name after he was fired and jumped to TNA.

It looks as though the "Off the Wagon" challenge by Beer Money will be a routine occurrence, as we get a second match tonight, this time with Lance Rock being the unlucky victim. There are possibly two more to come, as Jimmy Rave and Sonjay Dutt have recently parted ways with TNA as well. While opinions may be mixed regarding a fired talent's treatment, it is a great idea from a business standpoint. Rather than let an individual just disappear, TNA is using those talents to gain heat for the tag champs. The casual fan who is not aware of the firings will see Beer Money as a great heel team now that they are costing other wrestlers their jobs on a weekly basis.

We have an answer to the police officer mystery, as they have been called to the arena by Booker T. to investigate the attack by A.J. Styles that took place in Booker's locker room. If this were real life, and Booker was pressing charges, it is an open-and-shut case in my opinion. What better evidence do you need than an actual video tape of what transpired two weeks ago. If Booker only had TiVo he could just show the officers what happened and hardly any police work would be needed. Looking at police codes, I believe a 370 is the proper call for "a man being attacked in his dressing room with a title belt by an opposing stable's wrestler."

Hardcore History 101 gives us a few references to matches in Mick Foley's past. The first reference was a match in 1996 vs. Shawn Michaels at an In Your House PPV. This match was from the September Mind Games PPV. The main event was HBK vs. Foley for the WWF Title, with Michaels winning by DQ after Vader interfered. After Vader was chased away by Psycho Sid, Foley tried to shove HBK into a casket, but ran into a waiting Undertaker instead.

Foley then refers to a couple of matches from 2004, the first a tag team match at WrestleMania. The match-up was actually a three-on-two handicap match, as Evolution members Randy Orton, Batista, and Ric Flair defeated Rock 'n' Sock. Orton gained the pinfall over Foley, leading to a match-up at Backlash one month later. The Backlash match was a hardcore match for Orton's Intercontinental title. Despite appearing in his Cactus Jack persona, Foley was unable to get the pin as Orton defeated him after two RKOs. The match was a true hardcore bout, as weapons including trash cans, barbed wire bats, and thumbtacks were used.

As Jeff Jarrett confronts the MEM mid-ring, a quick jab is made about Jarrett painting the building during TNA's first year. This was not just a lame insult, as there is truth to that statement. On the TNA DVD release "The History of TNA - Year 1" mention is made of the fact that Jarrett and other's in power positions painted the Assylum in Nashville to make it more appealing to the TV viewer.

If you haven't seen this DVD, it is a great watch as there are interviews with people like Jarrett, Dixie Carter, Jeremy Borash and various wrestlers about TNA struggling to survive their first year and what they had to go through. There are also a few bonus matches from the early days, including a must-see ladder match between Jerry Lynn, A.J. Styles, and Senshi.

We get another Rough Cut tonight on the Ultimate X match, with the competitors putting over the dangers and risks of the match. Chris Sabin references the first Ultimate X and problems with the rope supports before the show started. The first UX match took place in August 2003 on weekly PPV #58. In that match, Michael Shane (Matt Bentley) defeated X champ Sabin and Frankie Kazarian to win the X Division title.

We get more posters in the TNA hallways tonight. They kind of remind me of myself when I was a teenager and I used to fill my walls with posters of movies and bands. We see a new poster tonight as Sting exits his dressing room. To the right of the doorway, we get a quick glimpse of a movie poster that says MILK. This is referring to last fall's "Milk," a movie starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, and James Franco. The movie is a bio about Harvey Milk, who was the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California. Not sure why this poster was in TNA's hallway. TNA may have secretly signed Chuck Palumbo. Cute Kip and he could be thinking of reforming their Billy & Chuck tag team and are just decorating the walls.

Jeff Jarrett likens Kurt Angle to a Godfather for his MEM role during tonight's contract signing. He references Tony Soprano, Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, and Al Pacino. Soprano is of course from the HBO show of the same name. The other three have appeared in the Godfather movies, with DeNiro also acting in the Untouchables as Al Capone. All four are good references, but I would have gone with Lloyd Bridges for his role in a mafia spoof movie - Jane Austen's "Mafia!"

Numbers crunched harder than an unprotected chair shot to the head: the greatest assembly of ... tag team champions in wrestling history? TNA and the MEM boast about World Titles, but TNA also has a great collection of tag team champions on their roster. Last week, we looked at cumulative World Title reigns, but what do the numbers say about current WWE/TNA rosters and tag team titles?

TNA's 32-man roster currently has 23 current and former tag team champions, with a combined 147 reigns. WWE's entire 65-man roster has 38 tag team champions, but only 132 total reigns. Looking at an individual show basis, TNA is clearly the front runner with 147 reigns consisting of 7,517 days. Smackdown sits at 58 reigns and 2,653 days. The Raw roster has 54 reigns totaling 2,814 days, and ECW brings up the rear with 20 tag title runs amounting to 1,592 days.

Of course, TNA has the Dudleys, who have twice as many runs as almost everybody else. But they are not solely responsible for TNA's tag title dominance. TNA also employs guys like Booker T, Kip James, B.G. James, Mick Foley, James Storm, and Kevin Nash - wrestlers who have a long list of tag title wins in their past. Looking at those who have ten-plus tag title runs, TNA has six of the eight (Edge and Kane the only WWE talents).

If we were to list the top cumulative reigns of the current rosters, WWE only has two in the top ten - John Morrison at #6 and Kane at #10. The top guy on that list may surprise some. It's not former AMW member James Storm, one of the Dudleys, or 14-time tag champ Booker T. The top tag team champion on TV today is none other than Kip James, who has spent 916 days on top of the tag team division (all in WWE).
