Thank you for joining me as we put Raw "Under The Microscope." This is not a complete recap of the show. Instead, this is a closer look at what was seen, what happened or anything else that came to mind during the broadcast.

Current endeavors

The return battle between for the Tag Team Championship not only gave us a chance to witness the match which was bumped from WrestleMania 25, it also gave us a reminder of who is still on the roster going into next week's draft. Ricky Ortiz was a lumberjack, along with Goldust, Jimmy Wang Yang, and Jesse, who was without Festus. That probably makes sense in that once the bell rang, would Festus be content to stand outside of the ring while the action was going on inside the ropes?

Other notes from the outside; R-Truth apparently has a new t-shirt, which could mean he's still in the WWE's future plans, Mike Knox still has his beard, and Charlie Haas was dressed as Charlie Haas.

"12 Rounds" and six states

In a rare promotion of John Cena's movie "12 Rounds," the new Champ ran down his itinerary for recent promotional stops, including Boston to Philadelphia to Atlanta to Miami to Los Angeles to New York, back to L.A. and back to New York before heading to Dallas, a return trip to L.A. and then finishing in New York. The total for his trip would be 18,674 miles. If he drove at 60 miles per hour, it would have taken him approximately 287 hours (17,220 minutes) to make the complete journey. With a running time of 108 minutes, he could have viewed "12 Rounds" 159 times.

He could. I'm just not recommending it.

Fresh start

Several Torch readers have written in about the potential for changes after next week's draft and life after WrestleMania usually does bring a new direction. On Monday we saw the return of Batista and Vince McMahon actually announced him as Dave Batista, which is his name, but rarely used on-air. I believe we also saw new t-shirts for not only R-Truth, but also Edge.

Matt Hardy wore his new wrestling outfit on Raw for the first time after debuting the look at WrestleMania 25. I've always thought that this is a great time for someone to completely alter their look, whether it's a new hair cut, what they wear to the ring or a new finishing move. When Chris Jericho returned, he eventually came back with a new look, a new style on the microphone, and a new finisher. I think those things contributed his success.

Simple math

After Rey Mysterio lined up two opponents, the announcers asked, "A double 619! What's that?" Technically it would be 1,238. Then again, since the 619 is the area code of his home, a double 619 would probably mean that you just dialed incorrectly.

Hello ma'am

Santino Marella continues to find unique ways to shine on WWE TV, considering none of the ways involve anything resembling a five-star match. The new Miss WrestleMania, Santina Marella made her debut on Monday by defeating Beth Phoenix. This was not exactly what I meant when I mentioned that changes in appearance were a good way to freshen up your character, but since we're likely stuck with Santina for the near future, did anyone else think of the commercial with the guy trying to smuggle nachos into the game under his dress? Just me? Okay, let's move on and never speak of this again.

Thank you, Webster

If you were watching the backstage interaction between Triple H and his father-in-law and stumbled across a word you normally don't share with your family. "Truculent" is defined as feeling or displaying ferocity, savage, cruel, destructive, scathingly harsh, vitriolic, aggressively self-assertive. I think that would fit Mr. McMahon.

Tell me about FDR

It was a good night for the more experienced members of society as Vince McMahon, Ricky Steamboat, and Mickey Rourke had moments of greatness on Raw. McMahon stood up to Randy Orton and, despite falling short, the 63-year-old was in the final match of the night. The 56-year-old Steamboat got the pin in his match providing a nice finish to his Hall of Fame weekend. Also, highlights aired of the 56-year-old Rourke knocking down Chris Jericho at WrestleMania. Toss in a 40-year-old Batista making his return and it was a nice night for the more mature members of the wrestling landscape.

The Dragon

In a very cynical world, it was quite refreshing to see Ricky Steamboat celebrate with happiness to the point of almost giddiness as he jumped into the arms of his tag team partners. Much has been said about his career, but the amazing part to me is that he was always the good guy. Nobody wants to be the clean-cut hero, so even the good guys bend the rules now. John Cena blackmails Vickie Guerrero and lies about his feelings for her. Triple H breaks into a house and uses a weapon whenever he gets the chance. C.M. Punk uses his "straight edge" image, but even Punk has spent some time as someone the fans boo in ROH.

The list used to be Steamboat and Sting. With Sting's time in TNA, he has aligned himself with Kurt Angle and Scott Steiner, although he was careful to not play too evil of a role. Am I missing someone? Who else has spent the vast majority of their career as the good guy?
