SUPERSTARS HITS

Maria & Kim vs. McCool & Fox: This was a marginal Hit. I was just happy to see a Divas tag match only involving four Divas instead of the eight or whatever that we saw so many times in the build up for WrestleMania and since. I was also happy to see the match go 5 minutes. That isn't very long, but compared to what we've been getting lately, it was much better. The wrestling action itself was solid to good throughout after a few sloppy moments early on. There seems to be an imbalance of heels and faces among the Smackdown Divas. With Melina, Gail Kim and Maria as all top level (I guess) babyface Divas, and only Michele McCool as a top level heel, they need to do something and perhaps they are elevating Alicia Fox who has shown potential.

Burchill vs. Bourne: This was a better match than Paul Burchill and Evan Bourne had on ECW a few weeks ago. They were both about 10 minutes long, but that one really dragged for 4 minutes in the middle. This one didn't drag. Burchill looked better and more focused in his attack on Bourne's knee. Bourne did a good job of selling the knee injury while fighting back and trying to still do his high flying offense. I wasn't really looking forward to this match considering the fact that I didn't enjoy the first one, but I was pleasantly surprised.

DiBiase vs. Carlito: This was another good match. The wrestling quality on Superstars this week was better than last week. Ted DiBiase continues to show why he is a probable break out star in the future. Carlito continues to show that he seems committed to having good performances during his current push (as opposed to when he has sometimes appeared less than committed). The match featured good back and forth action. A feud between Priceless and the Colon brothers has a lot of potential. I hope that it isn't dominated by Rhodes & DiBiase though. I guess if WWE wants to push them hard right now then they will get the Tag Titles soon, but I would rather have it drawn out some. Some failure to be lectured about by Randy Orton would be welcome. Keep the Titles on Carlito & Primo for awhile longer and let the feud build.

SUPERSTARS MISSES

None: This was a good episode of Superstars. I can't really complain about anything. Even what didn't get Hits (the Mark Henry video, the Priceless interview, the European Tour vid) were not bad. I can even look past a Raw Rebound since it makes more sense to me to put it on Superstars than ECW, since Superstars is meant to let wrestlers from each brand have some extra time each week, as opposed to ECW where they have a decent sized roster and only 1 hour of time to feature all of those performers. I still don't think a Raw rebound is needed. I haven't seen the ratings for the first few episodes of Superstars, but is there anyone watching who didn't see Raw? An ECW Rebound would make more sense. But, as I said, if WWE is going to show one, I'd rather have it here than on Tuesday nights.
